Hi,
I have problems setting up the scan to e-mail functionality on my Xerox Workcentre 6515DN. The error code is: 016-772: DNS server un-sets up in SMTP.
On the workecentre: I'm logged in as admin with the default password.
My smtp setup:
Server:
send.one.com on port 465
ssl/tls set to startttls
smtp authentication
(username and password typed in and checked multiple times)
Feedback when testing connection to SMTP: Can't connect through SMTP.
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Stefan
It doesn't make any reference on how to create a shared phone book.
It took me 4 hours over three days working with 5 Xerox reps to fix this.
People at Xerox support who helped the most were: Lionel and Cory; they stayed with me over 3 hours total while we tried scores of solutions.
Don't believe those at Xerox who tell you to get an ISP user name and put it in the WC6515 address book.
Key things to know:
a) this likely applies to W10 only (PC is Dell Inspiron 3576-64x) but read on as some of this may help
b) username CANNOT be an email address (mine was)
c) password for user name CANNOT be a pin (mine was)
d) folder to receive scans CANNOT have spaces or special characters in the name (mine had a space)
e) username with folder to receive scans MUST be an adminstrator
f) folder to receive scans MUST be fully shared with read/write permissions accorded the target username
g) after the WC6515 address book updated with user, username and folder info, restart the PC (assuming one has already shared the folder), only then attempt to scan
h) if while taking sharing actions, the username does NOT come up as hyperlinked (blue), try it anyway--that's when it worked
i) celebrate if it works (been trying since April [off and on] to solve this)

I am trying to scan to email. Once I've put in the recipient and all the other settings are correct, I press Start and it gives me the error "job cannot be accepted due to unspecified reason".
I solved the first problem. A "From" address has to be put in. However, is there a way to save this so that it doesn't have to be done each time? We use the same email address to mail from (the SMTP).
Hi,
Configuring SMTP Server Settings
1. In CentreWare Internet Services, click Properties > Services.
2. Click Email.
3. To access SMTP server settings, for Server to Send Emails (SMTP), click the Pencil icon.
4. To set auto discovery, for Auto Discover SMTP Server, select the check box or enter the SMTP server
domain.
5. Select the Name or IP Address type.
6. Type the appropriately formatted address or host name of your server and change the default port
number as needed.
7. Under Device Email Address, type the email address of the printer.
8. Click Apply.
9. If prompted, enter your password, then click OK.

Hi,
we have a Versalink C7025. We would like to attach metadata (document management fields) to the scanned documents. Do you have any idea how we can do it? Thank you for your responses in advance. Peter
We have been having an office with one office not being able to send us a fax for the past few weeks, all they get is a denial sheet stating our line is busy everytime. Both offices can send and recieved faxes from other offices (except for one other for my office), I have spoken to the manager at this other office, and she has stated that this has been an issues before but was resolved, how, either one of us know. I have spoken to my phone company and had a Xerox technician come out twice. No one knows why this is happening!
Has anyone had this issue before?
If so, how can I fix it?
We have had this issue with one other office.
Thank you.
Hello,
I think I have a wifi connectivity problem related to the HTTP port.
When I try to scan a document from the MFP using windows scanning software, I get an error message regarding http connectivity. This only happens if I connect the printer via wifi, if I connect the printer via ethernet or USB, in these cases there is no problem and I can scan correctly. Report that I can print without problem via wifi, it only fails when scanning via wifi, it is strange.
I have installed the scanner using Xerox Scan Experience Tool 7.4.43.0_x64. I have added the IP assigned by the router and it has installed the driver without problem (I can see the scanner installed in the device manager).
I am not sure if I should configure any parameters within the printer or perhaps within my router. Maybe it's a windows problem? any firewall rules? The truth is that I do not know.
In these types of cases, what usually goes wrong?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards
I have been trying for a few days to set my new printer up to scan to email using an outlook.com account.
The address is my.printer@outlook.com I do not know if this is office.com or office365.com But I have tried settings for both.
I have tried every server set up settings I can find on google and they constantly give me errors.
Does anyone know what the server settings are!
We're not set up this way via an Outlook account but have you tried these settings?
SMTP Server - smtp.office365.com
Port Number 587
If you want to use imap, it looks like there might be a workaround you can implement. These settings as a whole can be found HERE
Good luck!

No. Remote Station
Model name: WorkCentre 3335
Can you tell me if the MacOS instructions included in this thread work for Mac OS 10.15.6. When I atttempt to connect with SMB the scan does not communicate with the computer to enter the connection data from the edit screen.
I am having this same problem. What was the solution?

Hi,
Unfortunately Xerox ignores this problem.
You have to create a password for your user or create another user account (must be with password) and give the rights to that new user to write to the folder where you want to store the scanned images.

Hi KimiBCN,
I believe that I know what is happening. By default the VersaLink model Xerox machines, like your Workcentre 6515, set the primary network to ethernet when they are connected to both ethernet and WiFi. To scan over WiFi I think that you'll need to change the primary network to WiFi.
Here is an excerpt from the Xerox support site article for configuring WiFi on your device. This setting is changed in the Embedded Web Server (EWS) via your browser.
To configure the TCP/IP common settings:
This has been the solution for many customers that I have assisted in the past.
