Scan via USB to computer

I'm trying to setup this MFP to run connected to a dedicated computer via USB.  So I want to print and scan directly from the PC via USB.  I can install the drivers for printing to work fine.  But the computer doesn't recognize the device as a scanner as well.

I have turned on the "Scan To Desktop" function (why does this need to be turned on through EWS for a USB connection?).  Everytime I press the "Scan to Desktop" app it gives me a message saying "No scan profiles are available".

I can't get the computer to recognize the device as a scanner.  I've installed every driver I can find:
TWAIN/WIA Scan Driver - XeroxScanExperience_7.1.24.0_x64.msi

The TWAIN drivers that came with the disk won't install because a newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 is already installed?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Step by Step Encrypt Email Instructions

We have the Xerox 3655i and 7855i machines. I have been asked to provide step by step/screenshot instructions for scanning and encrypting to email using these machines. I have downloaded the user guides and do not see anything like this available (only some short text instructions, no screenshots).

Before I go to the effort to create them, can anyone direct me to such information if it is already out there? Even a video would be great. Thanks.

The devices as standard automatically except the data sent from the device. Do you mean add password to the PDF? This is used if scanning to shared email accounts

FAX Retries - Increase Retries

I have 2 ALTALINK C8055 devices in our office. I am finding it more difficult to make changes to this device. I am trying to Increase the number of FAX Retires on the Embedded FAX. I have read the Users Guide and also tried a search on XEROX FAQ and /or GOOGLE.

 

Any advise would be welcomed.

It doesn't scan via USB, the Scan to PC option scans over the network.

TWAIN/WIA is also scanning via the network., basically it scans to everything via a network connection, and that is why you enable everything via the Network port (EWS)

You can scan to a USB key, but that is it for the USB port

Login as admin and go to Device > Tools > App Settings > Fax App > Outgoing Fax Defaults > Automatic Resend

Xerox workcentre 6515 - Scan to gmail issue

Hello,

I've been having error 016-772 DNS server unsets up in SMTP since 08 August 2018 when I try to scan to email. Everything used to work perfectly before this date. 

Here is my config

 

Is there a solution ?

Can someone please help me, im just trying to scan a document from my workcentre 6515 to my desktop, it is something so simple yet i can seem to figure it out, i un hid the scan to desktop icon on my printer and now that does apper but when i click on that i get a message of no scan profiles are available, what am i doing wrong here? how do i create a profile or is there another way around this? SOMEONE help lol thanks

The 6515 on the latest firmware works just fine with Gmail.

If you are on the latest firmware and getting a login failure I would have to assume you have 2-factor auth enabled in Gmail.
