If port 139 is listed as the default on your device, then the firmware is out of date and should be updated

This forum is English only.

Nobody can help if your entire issue is summed into "problems sending fax", it is simply too generic, state actual problems, else the answers I give will be:

1. You need to buy a fax machine

2. You need to plug it into the phone line

3. You need to pay the phone company to activate the line.

HI I'm just an single user on my own wireless network and Xerox seem to make setting up scanning to a folder on my PC the most difficult task on this planet. I have searched these forums and have found the ip address / host name of my PC. I have set up a shared folder with the correct permissions with my login name for my PC but when I try to add an SMB contact to the address book the password fields are not there and when i try to scan i get error 1-005.

Hi,

I hope the next solution to work for you

When user goes to EWS of Versalink > Address Book, and then select Add Contact > SMB, Password fields are not displayed.

Solution

Check HTTP is set on HTTPS in Connectivity > HTTP settings

Password fields are now displayed.

Scanning multi page documents to individual pdfs.

Hello.

Am using Workcentre 7855 machines. I need to scan batches of multi page documents to pdf but need one pdf per document.

Eg if I have ten x two page documents I want ten x two page pdfs to be produced. Seems simple enough. However all I seem to be able to do is produce one x twenty page pdf or twenty x single page pdfs.

Any solution to this?

Thanks

HI,

On the Job Assembly tab turn Build Job to on, scan first segment, the machine will prompt for next segment an so on when you finish your documents and at the end select Submit Job.

Won't that create one pdf file with all the documents in?

I want to put a stack of 10 multi page documents in the feeder and press "scan" and have 10 pdf files created.

You have to actually connect via HTTPs, but because you left HTTP enabled on port 80, you likely haven't, so it isn't there.

2 solutions:

Specify HTTP or update the firmware (Due to demand, they added the option back in later firmware)

To specify https simply add it to the address in the addressbar via https://192.168.1.100 (clearly you would need to use your printer IP)

To update the firmware just grab it here

Yeah, it can be done. Open CWIS and select the Scan tab then select the template you are using and do this

Or you can do it on the fly per job

Thanks Joe but if I select "one file per page" this turns a two page document into two single page pdfs, not one 2-page pdf. So If I do this for a batch of 10 two page documents I'd get 20 pdfs not 10.

Thanks for the advice on having to actually connect via HTTPS rather than just enabling it. I simply turned off the HTTP option and just left HTTPS and the password fields appeared. So that solved that problem.

Having just tried another test scan though it failed with Error (027-529): Data read failure from SMB server. However i suppose i should start another thread on that.

Why is this so difficult, why can't Xerox just produce a piece of soaftware that connects with the scanner like all the other printer companies?

For completeness, just in case anyone else has this problem, I phoned Xerox support about the error code and they gave me the solution. Having reset the printer back to factory settings to try to solve the HTTPS issue it defaulted the primary network to Ethernet even though the printer was connected wirelessly. I just had to change this.

Home button, Device, Connectivity, Primary Network - select WiFi. Restart

And then it all worked.

Hi,
I have problem with scanning in just 1 location.

I'm sure that i have configured everything right, i manage 42 printers in diffrent location.
In all places are the same configuration - modem (the same model with sim card) and printer connected to him by wire and configured like this:
tcp-ip.jpgsmtp.jpg

We use office365 and at diffrent printers
At models 5330(the same as this with problem), 3345, 5220 its works fine.

What can i check and do to solve this problem?
Printer system ver: 53.33.75

Hi

first of any thing at all make sure that you are using Internet Explorer not chrome browser once you configure settings which have password fields especially with Fuji XEROX machines

and once you are using the same settings on another printers and all of them are working fine then i recommend you to upgrade the firmware .

If you stick 20 pages in the adf, you get one 20 page job, or 20 1 page jobs. It can't possibly know any more than that, it has no AI, it does not in any way interpret what is on the pages, its just a printer.

Now, if you are scanning the job in sections as separate scans and still getting one job in the shared folder, that would not be the default way it behaves, that means someone at your site told the printer to always add to the existing file, instead of creating a new file, so if that is your scenario you are going to have to provide more information, specifically:

1. What type of scan

2. What firmware is on the printer

3. What file type you are using
