I’m trying to scan to a shared folder on my Win 10 PC and I keep getting the 031-529 error on my printer. My PC is connected to my Printer through a network. I have some questions:

1) Should the Login Name be my username or an email. I don’t have an email linked to my user profile

2) Which port number should I use

3) How do I turn on SMB1

4) How should the format of “Name of Shared Directory” look like

5) How should the format of “Subdurectory Path” look like

6) On the “Share Permissions” for my shared folder, it shows only “Everyone”. Should I add anything

7) For permissions for Everyone, only “Read” is checked. “Full Control” & “Change” is unchecked. Should I change anything here

Sorry let me rephrase. I already checked the boxes under “SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support” and I can’t use 445 as the port number. Pls help

Workcentre 7655 - add address to public address book

Hello all, I am trying to add a couple of new users to the address book on our Workcentre 7655.  I've tried the following:

  • Use CWIS
    • Support pages tell me to login as admin and select the [address book] tab.  This tab is not listed on our 7655 CWIS page.
    • As admin, I go to the Properties -> Services -> E-mail tab.  There is an option to import a .cvs to use a public address box, but I just need to add two users.  There is no option to export the .csv file so I may edit it and add the users.
  • On the machine itself:
    • I read some Xerox models allow you to add an address on the device itself.  Logged in as admin on the machine I press the machine status button, select tools, and on some devices you can add an address to the public address book from this screen.  This is not the case with the 7655 I suppose.

 

This is driving me nuts.  I do not have access to the original .csv file used.  That file is long gone.  Please help!

Account codes

We use departmental account codes for copies. I have entered in all of our codes in our VersaLink C7030.

The problem is touching the log in button brings up all the codes and any are usable. Is there a way to not have those codes shown but still have to enter a code when you want to make a copy.

Permissions > Login/Logout Settings

You seem to be on 10+ year old firmware

Here is mine

The location you are going to is from the launch days, it is now a redirect on current levels.

Tell me what firmware you have and I will give you a link to what is current for your revision of 76XX device (There were some hardware changes over the years that require different firmware versions)

having the same issue on my 8700x when I scan and send to an email address.  nothing has changed except that I have been turning it off daily due to the numerous afternoon storms and loss of power (few seconds to minutes).  Turn it on only when needing to email.


Issue Setting Up SMTP - via SMTP2GO.com

Hello,

 

I'm currently having issues setting up SMTP via SMTP2GO service. I have this service running on 3 other devices with no problems. 

 

Whenever I type in the password for outgoing SMTP authentication, and then click "OK" it replaces the text with a really long "password". Is this normal for a security reason? Or is my password never being entered?

Dear Alain,

On behalf of Y Soft I would like to comment on this question.

First, there are very little details based on which I can provide any recommendation. Anyway, scan to folder may be part of YSoft SafeQ or not. If it is then the most common issue is the correct setting of access rights. Based on the version and architecture of YSoft SafeQ you use the main service responsible for scanning (CML AND/OR ORS) must run using credentials that have access to the destination network location.

From the support perspective this issue is best resolved while consulting your local supplier of your print fleet who is at the same time your direct contact for YSoft SafeQ related issues. Be it Xerox directly or a Xerox reseller. Also our partners (Y Soft as a company does not use direct selling business model) are trained to provide the support you require and distinguish the root cause of the issue.

In case the above recommendation did not resolve the issue please do contact your supplier of the print fleet.

I have this exact same problem with a brand new 6027, manufactured in October 2017 -- more than a year after this response. Does this feature (using the automatic document feeder for a scan to a WSD) not work? The document feeder works fine for Network scans, but not for WSD.

I don't want to go through the effort of tracking down firmware updates unless you can confirm that the problem was corrected in some release that was made available after the manufacturing date of my device. If the problem is still unsolved, that's inconvenient but I can live with it. But if there is a solution out there, I would like to track it down.

Resetting Workcentre 5755 to Default

Hi Guys, 

We got 1 machine Workcentre 5755 and we installed new HDD. We are going to upgrade the firmware and after that we would like to reset all the settings to default. These are the steps I'm going to do:

1. Save the NVM, GP 5.
2. Enter diagnostics, GP 1.
3. Select Diagnostic Routines.
4. Select Copier Routines, 132 NVM initialization-Copier.
5. Touch the appropriate button to select the NVM to be initialized and follow the on screen
instructions. Refer to Table 1, for the functions that are reset to default.
• All Copier NVM.
NOTE: The NVM window will gray out while the initialization is in progress.
6. Switch off the machine, then switch on the machine, GP 14.
7. Enter dC131 location 09-069 TCSensorCtrlVoltage. Set the value to the value recorded
on the NVM sheet stored in the wallet on the rear cover.

Basically, I'm going to initialize NVM,and my questions are, 

in number 7, what if there is no NVM sheet stored in the wallet on the rear cover?

and Is this the correct procedure for us to put all the settings back to default? Thanks.
