Workcentre 5335 Scan to Email with Office 365

We had Scan to Email working through a GoDaddy account, but we recently switched to Office 365 email and I cannot get it set up properly.  I've tried every setup configuration I could find online. POP before SMTP gives me "POP server comm timeout" and SMTP AUTH gives me "DSN server un-sets up in SMTP" or "Server un-supports SMTP-AUTH".  I made sure the system clock was accurate and I just updated the firmware.  These are the most recent settings I tried and seem closest to the Office 365 instructions and what all the forum posts recommend.  Is there something wrong here?

Work Centre 6515 DNI Scanning returns askewed results

I just bought a Work Centre 6515 which is really great. The only thing disturbing is that scans are askew. They are tilted a few degrees to the right. (Maybe 3 - 5 degrees). While this is not really a killer, it is not nice and doesn't look professional.

Haven't found anything regarding the hardware:

1. If I scan without the ADF and put a sheet directly on the glass, everything's perfect.

2.. Sometimes it takes documents from the ADF and scans them really nice.

3. Very often it returns askewed results (3 -5 degrees to the right).

4. The ADF works really well, so even if scanning papers that have been folded before.

What can I do?

Show dialed fax number on Fax Confirmation

We just recieved a new Xerox, and we lost our fax numbers on the confirmation, and they are only showing the CSID.

We had a nice rep figure it out with our old 5755 by supplying us with a feature code that replaced the CSID on the remote station and actually showed the numbers.  The person I talked to last week said there was nothing we could do but ask the people we are faxing to change their CSID, which isn't practical.

Anyone know how to get a hold of a rep who knows what feature codes are available?  We have a B8055.

Thanks.

It isn't free to use, so you would need to call Xerox and order a license

Update your firmware to this release.

Tick the box for SMTP AUTH.

Confirm your DNS entries are valid

Honestly , I would return it.

The only way for it to skew is for the paper to feed crooked through the ADF, which is why the scan on the platten works fine

ADF scan, paper moves, light stays still

Platten scan, paper stays still , light moves

Cause of the paper moving crooked are multiple:

1. The paper gets picked up improperly by the feed roller.$69 gamble there, and on a new machine, probably simpler/cheaper to just trade it back to Xerox as defective

2. The Paper guides are not holding the paper properly

2.JPG

3. Thin paper that kind of folds up instead of laying flat while feeding so it goes in crooked.

But no matter the scenario, it has to be hardware based, because there certainly isn't a check box enabled/available that will skew a job through the ADF/DADF , and when a new machine has a hardware problem, I always advise its return, because you should not have to buy parts for a new device, and hardware problems always have a cost.

I downloaded that new firmware and changed the Login to SMTP AUTH.  Now the error is "027-504: Invalid SMTP server's response".  The DNS is set to Obtain Automatically and the Preferred DNS server matches the Primary DNS from our Cox modem/router combo.  Does that make the DNS entry valid?

An invalid entry means it found the server but does not understand what the server stated back. Which means DNS has to be fine, else it would not have found the server that gave it the ability to make a request from the server in order to get back a response it did not understand.

As far as I know, the 53XX on the latest firmware that I linked is the only way for it to work with Office365, it is the firmware that resolved the issue where the printer did not have the ability to use SHA-2 for encryption, which would cause the error you are getting and 017-714.

Assuming you have logged into the email account the printer is using and did not get a "You must change the password now" message, and you did not enable 2-factor auth on the account (Both of those things cannot be understood by a printer and could cause your fault) then the only thing left is to do a Wireshark trace of the data on the LAN going between printer and Microsoft to see what the message is that it can't understand. If you can get that trace done, Xerox (assuming you have a maintenance agreement) should be able to figure out what is happening if you cannot.

Hi,

You can try:

Solutions 1:

Mail Alerts Office365, error 027-504

You are able to scan to email using his Office 365 account. However, mail alerts are using that same account, and are not being sent, instead the error 027-504 is logged on the device.

In order to resolve this issue clear out the Administrator's email Address field and clear out the domain field as well.

You can clear the Administrator's email Address and domain in the following CWIS menu.
Administrator's email Address:
Properties > Description >Administrator's E-mail Address:
Domain:
Properties > Connectivity > Protocols > TCP/IP > Domain Name:
With both of these fields cleared Office365 should work properly.

Solutions 2:

027-504 Failed e-mail

1. Email would fail with fault code 027-504 invalid response from smtp server.

2. Invalid response been detected message.

 Resolution

Subject line was being filtered by e-mail server.

1. Change subject line. I tested with my name only.

2. Disable Smart eSolution on CWIS. Properties - General Setup - Smart eSolutions - Registration - Register with Xerox Communication Server - Server Communication - Enabled - unchecked.

PRINT TO FAX

I used to be able to Print to Fax.  Simply by selecting Print in my document then using the Fax version of the Xerox 6505DN Driver.  Upon pressing print a window opened where I could enter the name and number of the recipient.

Its still working on some software but no longer works on Apples PAGES which of course is where I need it most.

Anyone can help me fix this???

That doesn't change the support options at all.

Since you tried posting in Russian, I would assume that is what you speak, in which case you simply call Xerox there.

This just sounds like you hid the settings in the print window, other wise Pages is clearly the problem because when a feature works in every application except one, the application with the issue is the problem.

So if it is just an issue with Pages and it isn't that you hid the driver details you would need to contact Apple, not Xerox.

After updating the firmware I tried my gmail account again instead of Office 365, and this time it worked.  If I have free time I'll look through the settings again and try to get Office 365 working, but the gmail account is doing what I need for now.

Thank you for the help!

What do you mean by disable dual stack?

Only a thing on VersaLink devices, so if you have one go to

And change it from Dual Stack to IPv4

Errors scanning with a Xerox Phaser 6180MFP-d

We have multiple Xerox Phaser 6180MFP-D printers in our business, and recently we've started to have issues when trying to scan.

The printers are connected to our corporate network, and the printing functions seem to be working just fine.  However, we've replaced several older, Windows 7 based, computers with newer Windows 10 based models.  Ever since, those newer Windows 10 computers have been unable to use the scanning functions of the 6180MFP-D.  It should be noted that the printing functions still work just fine.

We scan using the "Network" option, with the scanned document/image showing up in a pre-designated folder on the user's computer.  The "address" for these computers is set up correctly in the Printer's Address Book under the "Server Address Book, Individual Directory".

ab.jpg

And the Login Name and Password, as well as the Share Name are correct.  The indicated folder is shared with Read/Write access for "Everyne" on the computer, and shows up under the Computer manager as a shared folder, and is accessible when using Windows Explorer from another computer.

However, when going to scan to these computers, we receive the following messeage:

Login Error

Error 016-782

Press Ok

I've tried modifying the address book record, deleting the address book record and re-creating it, re-sharing the folder, deleting the folder and re-sharing and changing the IP address of the indicated computer, but nothing seems to make any difference.

Any help?

Thanks,

Good morning all,  I have a customer who prints out their fax activity report on the C8045 AltaLink.  What is the maximum amount of jobs the fax activity report will print out, and how far back in the date will it go?
