Does anyone know how many jobs the "Job Icon" hold on the Xerox AltalInk C8045?

Re: Errors scanning with a Xerox Phaser 6180MFP-d
Windows 10 will be using port 445, not 139, the 139 port uses Netbios over TCP/IP, which is near always blocked in current Operating Systems. As is SMBv1.
So step one is going to be to change that port.
Step 2 will be to change the login name format. Do this and type it into the printer exactly as it appears within the brackets
I can't state for sure if scanning will actually be possible via SMB though, I don't have access to a 6180 to test, but since the last firmware was released in 2012, I would think it unlikely it will work with current protocols.
If you find that to be the case, you would need to make some changes on the PC side, best bet would be to simply configure FTP.
Re: C8045 AltaLink Fax Activity Report
Hi,
Activity Report: This report provides a summary of faxes sent and received. You can generate this report from the printer control panel. By default, this report prints automatically after 100 fax transmissions and reception. You can also generate this report manually.

Can you share with us the chain links used by the technician since I have the same problem on my c405?

Re: Workflow scanning - Use space in file name
Somebody I know expressed irritation today regarding those of us who tend not to use spaces in our filenames, e.g. NamingThingsLikeThis.txt -- despite most modern operating systems supporting spaces in filenames. Are there technical reasons that it's still common to see file names without (appropriate) spaces? If so, what are these technical reasons that spaces in filenames are avoided or discouraged, and in what circumstances are they relevant?
No SSL\TLS encryption option on Altalink C8030?
Hi there
I'm trying to set up a scan to email on our new Altalink C8030, on every other printer we have we select the SSL\TLS encryption and it works just fine, but this isn't an option on the unit we have, there is only STARTTLS or SMTPS, is there a way to add the encryption method?
I tried generic yahoo and gmail accounts with starttls and kept getting errors at different stages such as "Hostname is not available". I managed to send a successful test email from the gmail set up one time, and all other times start getting the error again.
Any advice?
Re: Workflow scanning - Use space in file name
Spaces are fine now, but were not in the past.
So if you have been using computers since the 90's and early 2000's, you remember not being able to use them, so you don't.
People born it the late 90's early 2000's never had that issue and find it weird.
Re: No SSL\TLS encryption option on Altalink C8030?
SMTPS is SSL/TLS, it is a newer term for exactly the same thing.
I don't use Yahoo email but know it works in current firmware releases.
Gmail works flawlessly with
smtp.gmail.com
port 587
STARTTLS
My guess is that part of your issue will be the time on the device being off more than 2 minutes of local.
Re: Scan To Email - SMTP Error - Xerox 7255
Step one
Step 2.
Run the trace, do a scan, stop the trace and download it, open in Wireshark, filter for SMTP and discover where/why it fails
Re: No SSL\TLS encryption option on Altalink C8030?
Hi Joe
Even with the gmail account I have set up and with those settings, I still get an error saying "Unable to send test Email. Hostname is not accessible", I can't for the life of me think what I'm missing.
Re: No SSL\TLS encryption option on Altalink C8030?
As I stated, update the firmware
Login via web browser as the account the device is using and make sure it did not block it
Re: No SSL\TLS encryption option on Altalink C8030?
The firmware is already the latest version, less secure apps are already enabled, and no devices are being blocked (I had already taken these steps), still the error occurs.
SCAN to SMB setting for WC 5330
Hi Guys,
Need help for setting up Scan to SMB for WC 5330 for Windows 10. We already created a folder and shared it to a new account with password but it says Job not sent.
This are the steps we followed:
1. In CentreWare IS, click Properties > Services > Network Scanning > File Repository Setup.
2. Click Add.
3. Next to Friendly Name, type a name for the repository.
4. Select SMB from the Protocol drop-down menu.
5. Select the address type. Options are IPv4 or Host Name.
6. Next to Host Name / IP Address & Port, type the appropriately formatted address and port
number for the server where the file repository is located. The default port number is 139.
7. Next to Share, type the share name.
8. Next to File Path field, type the directory path of the folder starting at the root of the shared
folder. Example: If you have a folder named scans in the shared folder, type \scans.
9. Under Login Credentials to Access the Destination, select one of the following:
• Authenticated User and Domain: The authentication server validates the user credentials
prepended by the domain name against the LDAP server.
• Authenticated User: The authentication server validates the user credentials against the
LDAP server.
• Prompt at User Interface: Users type their credentials at the control panel.
• System: Login name and password credentials are specified in this field and stored in the
printer. The printer uses the system credentials go log into the file server.
10. Type the Login Name and Password if the system will be directly accessing the file server.
11. Click Apply
if possible can anyone give me specific details of steps? thanks.
Re: No SSL\TLS encryption option on Altalink C8030?
you will need to call Xerox I guess, every thing you state applies to the General release firmware available on Xerox.com, and it was all fixed in the spar version I actually linked.
The only other place to look is the printers own hostname.
When you call Xerox though, have the Wireshark trace of the attempted scan to supply them and a pdf copy of the configuration report from the device (So they can use that to cross reference the network traffic in the trace)
Re: SCAN to SMB setting for WC 5330
What is the IP address for your server?
What is the operating system it is running?
What is the name of the folder you want to scan to<case sensitive>?
