You were correct that it was a DNS issue. For some reason the printer will no longer get the DNS server automaticly. When I hard coded the DNS address it worked.
Thanks,
Joe

I just bought a xerox 700i few weeks ago, and i works for some few days, and though still working but yellow color is missing, now the seller and i have done all the trouble shooting, printing single color, changing the tower from r1 to r2 etc, a technician he reffered to me came and did everything, yellow routor is turning, we changed the yellow cartrige to another area it printed and the other color was changed to where yellow cartrige was and it did not print. This means the yellow drum area is having issue, now the first technician that installed the printer did not tell me i needed a 240 volt dedicated line, so i was told the yellow that was missing was due to the fact that the printer was plugged to 120 volt, i'm about doing a new 240 volt wiring in my office,
The printer is not tripping off, do you think voltage might be the reason why the yellow color is missing? i'm running cra**z as i bought this printer with all my saving, now can't work and bills are pilling. please i need urgent help, it's going to cost me another $750 to wire my office with 240 volt line.
What can i do
Thanks.
Lanre Manuel
It doesn't seem like the issue would only affect yellow. But until the power is fixed I would not try running the machine at all anyway, you blow the power supply in that thing and you will be out a lot more than the $750. Even if it appeared to run fine, even trying it with the wrong supply line is a terrible idea.
So unplug it and step away, don't even leave it plugged in until the power is sorted out, if you cause electrical damage to that thing the $750 won't even be a drop in the bucket after the bill you would get to fix a massive power failure.
And make sure the electrician knows these are the specs required.
Voltage: 208-240 VAC minus 10%/plus6%
Frequency: 50/60 Hz plus/minus 3%
Amperage: 12 Amps
Power Consumption: 2.746 KVA maximum
I have a Xerox 3325 set-up to scan to folder on about 15 PCs. We are having serious issues with it scanning to the incorrect PC. As an example let's say you pick Suzy's name, Bob then gets that scan. What gives and how do we fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also a second issue has reared it's ugly head. We constantly have to go into the software and re-enable scanning from the operation panel. Is Windows disabling this? Again any help is appreciated.
HI all, recently i have a problem with printers 5855 and 5955 both of them new. I have filled the config of printer as show:
5955 have 072.091.054.31606
5855 have 071.190.103.05402
Same configuration in xerox 5855.
Here the directory settings
The result in a remote directory lock failed message and cannot scan to directory.
Multiple things. Both Firmwares are terribly out of date.
Both are Connectkey, so unless they are set to DHCP, and registered on a Domain, so if this is showing red in your DNS settings you will be required to scan by IP address and not hostname.
Your screenshot shows a subfolder of escaneos that the folder properties does not show, so username may or may not have access to the escaneos folder.
Upgrade the firmware on the 5855 by using this tool , if that resolves the matter (Not related to anything mentioned above) then go on and update the 5955 with this tool. (No settings should be lost with either)
I can't test or verify that there is not a special characters issue as I can only test with an American keyboard.
Hi raidercoy,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please make sure that there is only one scan driver. If there is more than one please delete the other scan driver(s) so that only the WorkCentre 3325 scan driver is loaded. The try your scan again. If it continues to scan to the wrong location uninstall the scan driver and re install making sure you are using the latest driver for the 3325 and not the 3315. If the problem continues please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
I have called 3 technician, they all seems not to know what to do.
Please can someone refer me to any technician in Houston Area that can fix this please.
I would think that the yellow developer housing not turning would be the most likey cause.
Hello to all,
I am setting my 6015 and I have still same error code 031-529 login failed. I tried everything but I probably filled wrong login name and password. problem is that on the notebook isnt any "user" only Home-PC with no login without password. I tried every possibility of login name without password. please see the screens.
it is on windows 7, printer(scanner) is connected via Wi-fi.
I appreciateeveryeffort tohelp.
Thanks
There is absolutely a user account or Windows wouldn't load.
It is impossible without a password to access the share, if it was possible then anyone on your network could access your PC at any time and drop whatever they wanted on your hard drive or remove it just by knowing your IP address/Hostname.
If it is Windows 7 go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and make another user via the Manage Another Account link.
After you create it there will be an option to assign a password, that has to be done.
A guy came in to check and concluded the laser is bad due to pluging it into a low voltage port (110)
ordered the laser already, waiting till Monday or Tuesday to fix it. I will keep you guys posted. Thanks
Not a good experience to start this printing job but...
We want walk-up users to have to enter a code in order to make copies. We also want to run a report each month to see how many copies were made in total (not for each user).
As an example we created a User Name as 1234 and a Friendly name as User One in the User & Limits area under Accounting Methods. A password was never asked for nor entered. When the user walks up to make a copy the machine asks for the User ID - we enter 1234. The next screen asks for a Passcode. Why is this happening?
We have Service Tracking enabled to Copies only.
We have User Permissions set to Locally on the Device
We have only four users and they are in the default XRX_DEF account.
In Device User Database the Passcode fields are blank as expected.
Sys Software Version = 072.091.054.31606
Software upgrade = 090.116.00307
We set this up on another machine we use to have and it worked just fine. What are we missing??
I recently purchased a WorkCentre 3615 to replace a 3220. I assumed that the much more expensive machine would at a minimum contain the same utilities and driver features as the dated 3220. After spending a long time on the phone with a tech, he told me that the 3615 have a loudspeaker but is not useful for incoming fax ring. I didn't want to belive in it. I tried to set it in Icoming Defaults for FAX in Properties but no metter what I changed (Recive Mode:Ans/FAX Mode;TEL/FAX Mode or FAX Mode and Ring Tone Volume: form off to MAX), it wasn't working. Solution from technician was to reach out to the company that sold me the machine and send it back. I did it. Now I recived a new one and have exactly the same problem.Unbelievable.
Interesting fact:
When I set the tone volume directly on the printer, then the loudspeaker rings (for try). After that i make a test-fax-call and it gives any sound.
Have you some solution for me? Thanks in advance.
Karol
hello
i have problem
after power down all my workcentre 5330 cant connect to remote shared folder do scan destination files.
i shared this folder on my domain controller server.
When I click on domain name in xerox display there is a list with computers inside domain, but now i cant find domain controller on this list.
instead this server is now visible in WORKGROUP.
as user and password for this folder i configured one of my login and password from my active directory.
when im trying to scan do remote folder i have error 027-516
everything else works well in this network, every printer, computer can access domain controller and shared folder.
If there is more information needed im gladly to provide it to solve this issue.
thanks in advance for any suggestions and help.
On the Fax activity report from our 5955 I have a few questions that will hopefully help us understand why faxes are showing as received and completed yet nothing was printed. (Note - we have already checked the internal mailbox, job status area, and hard drive memory area.)
When some faxes are being received by the machine it beeps and the activity report reflects the following:
On the faxes in question the entries in the Remote Station Column is empty (no sender's phone number).
Page column is 1/1 - even though the sender was sending 6 pages.
The Line column for these faxes is N/A
The Job Type column is RP which indicates Report according to the legend on the report.
The Results column is CP which indicates Completed according to the legend on the report.
Can someone explain what these indicate and where are the faxes??
Thank you.
Not a certainty, but that issues typically happens on devices where a clone file is used across a generational gap in firmware.
The 59xx/58xx/6655/722x/78xx/79xx/3655 are all Connectkey products. If you take a clone file from a 58xx and put it on a 59xx it will break fax.
It will also cause major issues if you use a clone on a firmware that starts with 072 (Connectkey 1.5), from a machine that has one beginning with 071 (This is Connectkey 1.0)
If that is the case, the only way to fix it is with an Altboot no data backup no clone, which means the tech wipes the device, brings it to the latest release, and you set it back up manually.
We have now moved on to an 073 release (Oddly, we are not calling it Connectkey 2.0) that will not allow clone files if they come from other devices or incompatible firmware.
Are you saying the printer can scan to the share fine until rebooted, at which point you start getting the error code?
Are you using a Network scan template or something else?
I really don't understand the line When I click on domain name in xerox display there is a list with computers inside domain, but now i cant find domain controller on this list., what list and where are you choosing this? Try providing pictures and screenshots in your reply
If the printer is not registered on the domain it won't properly browse it, and the username should be formatted as domain\username if server 2003 or older, and user@domain for server 2008 and above. Easiest way to be sure is to check the share properties, it doesn't matter how other devices are configured, this one needs to be done this way
