Though this does seem to be a different issue, I'm not really sure what the problem could be.
I do suggest you have a read through THIS and THIS.

 

Hopefully that might help as I still think it could have something to do with the smb version.

Also one last question, do you have any file named SRTSP.sys or SRTSP64.sys on your Win 7 machine?

The date/time is fine.

 

I had already done the first of your links, and the second looks downright scary (and didn't mention anything about Windows 7) !

 

I don't seem to have either of those files on my PC

 

Is there any mileage in doing a firmware update for the Xerox ? I'm not sure I have ever done one, unless it does them itself somehow.

 

Are you able to connect to my PC and poke about ? I am happy for you to do that if you can.

Not having those files is positive :smileyhappy:

When it comes to updating the firmware you can have a look HERE

Though remember to check that the firmware is compatible with your machine and compare the latest firmware with the one you have, also print out a config sheet before installing anything, just a tip.

 

Unfortunately I'm not working for Xerox, and I do not have the necessery tools to remote control your PC.

I do not know if Xerox is offering any kind of remote controlling, you can give them a call to see if they can help you with your problem, cause right now I cannot come up with anymore suggestions, sorry about that :smileysad:

I have now got SMB scanning up-and-running on my wife's Win8 machine, so lets see if that continues to work !

scan to home problem

at our company we've got 400 xerox Workcentre 7885.we also use Equitrac. We want to use scan to home folder, Ldap is working fine (we also use scan to email and scan to several network locations. When we setup scan to home, everything looks fine, but when we make a scan to the home folder a paper is printing saying status failure:

servername is correctly, path is wrong (just \\username) so there's no path to the home share.

When I look at Ldap user mappings: home then I can see on the mfc everything looks fine

But when we make a scan there's like I said only \\username (no path to the hidden share)

the home folder for our company's are \\ server-number\company_path\homefolder

So there’s minus sign in the servername and an underscore in the hidden share

How can we use scan to home folder?

I suggest you try a path without "-" "_" signs.

Hello SandyP-Xerox,
Well I am very happy!
I opened the guide “Scanning to PC or Network.”
1. First, I checked that the computers and the printer were in the same network.
2. I opened the CWIS on a browser (192.168.1.25)
3. I opened the address book and on the left panel opened the Computer Server Address directory.
4. I saw the IP address of the computers (192.169.1.156 and192.169.1.163)
5. Then I watched a Windows video about how to find the IP address of a computer.
6. I found the IP address of the computers and they were different from the one on the Server Address Directory.
7. I edited the IP addresses.
8. The scanner performed perfectly.

thanks for the reply.

 

I have quintupled check my settings. Here are some of the things that I have tried

 

-IP instead of HOST name - vice versa

-Putting full path of share name. instead of just Pharmacy, I put \\vnxrslpool\PHARMACY

-Checked the file properties on the our VNX and it is not set to case sensitive. Although the share name is in caps, it does not affect the naming convention.

-Different port for SMB (both 139 and 445 worked on our Phaser, so it's not a port issue

-Changed the password of the account pharmacyscanning which has writes to the share. A simple AD Service Account used for this purpose.

 

Here are some screen shots of both, the Phaser - which works, and the problematic 5845.

 

We were curious to try on our WC7530 because it is the same UI as the 5845, and of course, no luck with this printer as well. But the main concern is the WC 5845.5845.PNG3635.PNG

As you can see for the Phaser, it is currently set up using Host name, but we also tested using IP and it works. Like I said, it works flawlessly with this printer.

Hi again!

 

Could you possibly post a screenshot on the 5845 / 7530 instead? as it's the one thats not working.

As it's not working for both printers, I would guess that it's the settings.

Xerox 7835 only scanning to one shared smb on the network all of the others throw a login failure.

The computer that has a successful smb share is a windows 7 machine I had to share the entire C: drive and the share location with full readwrite privilages also I had to enable UDP137 (public) TCP139(public) and TCP445(public) and give them IP privileges...This is an unfair place to put techs in the field and it goes way beyond our scope....This needs to be remidied PLEASE build a smb setup wizard into the windows driver installer as we have 4-5 jobs a day with multiple machines that need similar set ups. In the mean time what is the fix for the Win7 and Win 8 machines on this netwrok we have tried everything from assigning static IPs to each machine and re cycling the router table to wading through piles of firewall exceptions. It doesnt make sence for on machine to be seen and not the rest please explain why the same configuration cant be used for all of the machines. and also why does the web portal not allow standard SMB url format...

WC 3325 sits on "Initializing" screen

After restarting the machine, it just prints a config page, then says 1. Printing; and 2. Printing.  Then, if ANY button is pushed from there, it just sits on the "Initializing" screen.

 

I've cleaned the insides with compressed air, and rebooted, several times.  Still no resolution.

 

Anyone else experience this?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dear support,

 

I have the same problem. We are using corporate e-mail on gmail platform.
Recheck all settings, mailbox working I can send and receive mail on it.

Maybe be you give additional recommendations to resolve this issue.

There was a change made on the gmail side a few weeks ago that is currently affecting a large number of devices, Xerox is aware and the developers are working at fixing the issue. I can give no ETA on the fix, I can only confirm that Xerox knows there is an issue, and that it has affected all currently released firmwares for this device (7120) as well as some other models. My Apologies for this inconvenience.

Call Xerox and request the firmware for Login Failures, This was fixed a long time ago and there is no reason to make changes Client side. It is a big change though from the launch firmware that ends with .04401, it is recomended to do what the techs refer to as "Altboot, forced upgrade no data backup no clone", this is a complete reload that wipes all data, and due to the massive changes it is prefered to do it that way instead of as an upgrade. Think of it like going WinXP to Windows 8, you can upgrade, but it isn't suggested.

Typically this happens when there is a power issue, shut it down and unplug for 5 minutes then plug into another power outlet and see if it is resolved, failing that, you would need a Xerox hardware guy to look at it.

New user with WorkCentre 7845 need some helo with Email Scanning

I am hoping this is a basic thing... 

We have a Workcentre 7845 that is used quite a bit in our office for scanning to email.  The complaint I hear from users is that after they scan something their address stays in the To Field in the machine.  If the next person is also going to scan, they have to first remove the last person from the To field before they begin.  Is there a way around this?

Hi,

 

Same for me on 6605DN.

 

Can't connect to smtp.

 

Have tried ports 465, 587 with all SSL combinations. Also tried DNS from google (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4). Connection is ok and account is valid.

 

Also have 7220 and is working ok through 465 TLS/SSL with same account.

 

Firmware is updated.

 

Any suggestion?
