After many hours working on this printer very frustrated and plan to return it or get a replacement.  In the the meantime I got the blasted thing work.

There is no Scan to PC Setup via USB cord.  The Printer has to be setup on a WIFI network.  Go into the connectivity settings and manually set.  

It will ask you to reset device and hit close.  Dont hit close on the printer! Reset your network router.  Once your router resets be patient check your monitoring software to see if the device is on.  It should be the Workcentre 6515 may reboot or reset itself without interference.  

When the console on the printer is back to the home page choose the About.

Scroll down to see if the printer has a IP address.  If it does go to Scanner config utility and enter network info {I could not find the utility} So I reinstalled the Scanner Software from the 

CD if you have it otherwise download it from -->>  Make sure you choose the right OS!!!

After this use the Windows Fax and Scan or Windows equailivent in your OS platform.  

If that does not work for you I reccomend returning it if it is not that old.  Because, in my opinion you should allow for a Scan to PC option via USB as well.  Not sure why that function was omitted.


Noise while printing

Hello from Italy, very pleased with my unit until recently, on start up and while printing, the rollers make a loud noise. Checked all unit but no object/paper jammed in the machine. Printing quality is perfect anyway, just worried about this noise. Many thanks, Max

Sounds like you are getting deletions. Here are some solutions that may help. You may need to replace your dry ink cartridge.

You have to program the printer to do email, just like you can't send an email without having one to send from, neither can the printer.

So give it an email account and give it the login and server address to access, this will enable the Email option on the printer, at which point, the address book entry will appear on the device.

Scan to PC means you go to the printer,select scan, choose the PC and hit send.

What you are doing is pulling the scan from the scanner while being at the PC. That can easily be done by just installing the USB specific driver.

And as it states, you may need to update the firmware to make it usable

E-Mail configuration settings

Have just purchased this printer but am having issues setting up e-mail for scanning to e-mail

Continually receive smtp configuration errors

This is a home printer and am attemting to use own personal outlook.com e-mail for transmissions.

Settings configured as follows

Server Domain - outlook.com

Host Name - smtp.office365.com

Port 587

Device E-Mail (personal e-mail address) - xxy.zzz@outlook.com

Login Credentials - Authenticated User

Login Name - xxy.zzz@outlook.com

Password - password

Connection Encryption - TLS

 

These settings do not seem to work.

Any ideas from anybody please

Office365 uses STARTTLS, not TLS

And the login should not be authenticated user. If it is a Connectkey or AltaLink it will be either System or Device, Versalinks will need to be done as PreDefined

And whatever the printer model is, you probably need a firmware update

I would like to create a link from my PC and have access to these files without opening the Workcenter webpage.

Open CWIS and click on Scan

Select Mailboxes then Create Folder

That isn't possible, its a printer, not a mappable File server server

 

Duplicate scan ID

Hello,

I try to activate Scan to PC option by Easy Printer Manager under Windows 10. Unfortunately I have got following error message.

"It is not possible to enable scan from device panel due to duplicate scan ID, please try with different scan ID."

Where is this profile saved and is it possible to clear this record?

Hello

 

I bought a Xerox workcenter 6515dni tried to use it but ran in to some trouble.

 

The install cd didn’t install any scanning software; the computer doesn’t even know there is a scanner attached to it.

 

It wouldn’t take a command on the computer to print double sided.

 

The connection i am using is a usb cable as the printer is in a place which doesn’t have any internet access.

 

When connecting a usb drive to the printer itself, the printer could scan in to it, as well as print from it, double sided without any trouble. I guess i just dont know how to set it all up.

 

I am looking for the printer to work on 2 laptops. One of them is a 32bit windows 7, and the other one is a 64bit windows 8.1.

 

I do not know a lot about computers so i would appreciate it if someone could offer me child proof instructions on how to get this resolved, whilst being offline. I could download some stuff elsewhere, and run it there (which I would need to know how to), but I don’t have internet connection next to the printer.

It is Xerox B215. But I am sure, that problem is on the PC side.

Test case:
=========
1) install SW from Xerox B215 CD version 1.09 (10.11.2019)

2) enable Scan to PC feature from Xerox Easy Printer Manager

3) register scan ID for network scan

4) uninstall Xerox Easy Printer Manager

5) install Xerox Easy Printer Manager

6) enable Scan to PC feature again

7) unable to register original scan ID due to error message

Samsung designed the software to use the HOSTID of the PC it is installed on as the Scan ID (Should be able to see it at the upper right of the Easy Device Manager when you set up the scanner.)

The issue they did not account for was multiple users on one PC, or 2 PC's with the same name. If that is the case, it just isn't going to work unless you change the host ID or store the jobs in a folder available to both users.
(The root of any drive for instance)

If you installed it to the printer, then deleted and re added the software to the same PC, you should theoretically be able to just disable it in the software , then reboot both, and enable it again.

Just a theory since I haven't actually done such a thing and haven't seen reports of others doing it on any of the samsung forums or here on Xerox's

Hello Joe,

thank you for your response.

The problem persists still, but scan ID is stored in printer.
When the PC is switched off, the printer offers fake IDs still. Is it possible to clear this section by CWIS or by factory reset of B215?
