I am getting the error message 018-755: Servier connection error in SMB when I try to scan to my desktop. This is the third time we've had this issue for no apparent reason. PLEASE HELP.

I am working with my local admin dept. to set up the ability to scan to folders on our local machine. We attempted to try the network setup, but it didnt work out. SMB is not allowed on the shared network folders so scanning to network folders is not possible. However, the IT admin said it is possible to scan to the local machine. The thing is, there are no local users for our machines, we are part of a domain group including the admin users. I created the folders and i am the owner of all of the folders that i created on the local drive and when i attempt to setup the username and password on with the template with my domain creditinals i recieve unknown errors when trying to scan to these destinations. I am not sure what else to do and we really need this feature for our project and moving forward. Any advice is much appreciated. (Also, our workcentre is operating on the latest firmware and the workstation that i use has windows 10 OS). Somebody please help!

Hi,

You can do it from machine Web Browser, loged as admin, go to Apps>Fax>Confirmation report.

Hi, there:

            We own a work center 3655 printer in our company and we have upgraded it to the lastes firmware 

073.060.019.14200. But when we tried to scan any document, it gave us the error shown in the picture below. Reseting the device does not resolve the issue. Can someone tell us why this happened and how to solve it?

Hi,

There is a Scanner fault. It is possible to have a defective scanner.

Before upgrade the machine works well? If it so try to reinstall the firmware by AltBoot method with FORCED_UPGRADE.

Hi, there:

             The scanner did not work either before the upgrade, that is why we chose to install the latest firmware. If it is because of the scanner, is there any way to fix it?

Sorry, but the scanner must to be replaced.

Did you follow THESE STEPS when performing your firmware upgrade?

You can try re-setting up the network scanning by following THESE STEPS .

Hello InkMaster,

Have you followed THESE STEPS when adjusting your settings? If so, is it happening with all users? All applications? You may need to contact Support to do some next level troubleshooting on this issue.

This method worked for me for upgrading the printer from USB stick

  1. Download the firmware (.bin) file, refer to support page for the printer.

  2. Create a folder named ‘DWLD’ on the USB memory device (FAT formatted).

  3. Store the software download file (.bin) in the ‘DWLD’ folder

  4. Switch off the machine,  Insert the USB memory device (rear of the printer).

  5. Simultaneously press then hold down the Home and Power buttons until the device powers on and SPECIAL BOOT MENU appears,

  6. Simultaneously touch the letters A in SPECIAL, B in BOOT and the Home button. Do not hold any of the three locations, just touch/press then release simultaneously

  7. At the keypad screen enter code number: 6789#. The SPECIAL BOOT MENU 1/3 screen will display.

  8.  Select Download Mode on SPECIAL BOOT MENU 1/3, then touch YES. The UI will display SW update progress. The machine will eventually reboot several times

Hooked up new printer and scanner. It prints but no way to scan to pdf is allowed

Ok, just have this new multiprinter scanner the c405 hooked up to a win 7 system.  It is hooked up via ethernet. It is seen and drivers are loaded.  Issue is the scanner is only being allowed to scan either TIFF,BMP,XPS, or JPG formats only.   I need to be able to scan in pdf format and scan into a desktop folder or whatever location I want to scan a file as a pdf into.  The choice for choosing the output as PDF is not even available.  I suspect this is some type of twain related thing.    HELP ripping my hair out in frustration.  I even tried connecting to usb and reinstalling drivers from scratch.  I first install the latest smart driver which I think is the print one Version 68..50.61      than I next install one of the offered scanner drivers.   Somehow I think the drivers are messing things up.   Help please I know this is easy fix, but for life of me can not get the unit to scan to PDF or scan to FILE.....

What steps do you mean?

I've upgraded via Software Upgrade Utility and followed the instuctions in included file. All installed fine without any errors.

Today i've downgrade firmware to 100.001.057.09609 and problem dissapered.

hmmm you say :  SMB is not allowed on the shared network 

 

a shared network = SMB

so you can access a share on the networr, the a machine can do that too

just create a scan template, use IP of the server , to eliminate dns issues

fill in the share name, without slahes, the fill in a path / folder (optional)

please make a screenshot of your settings, so we can help

oh, and also post your firmware version, the ones on xerox site are actually behind, we can help you with newer ones, that will also eliminate 'unknown error', its a firmware bug
