xerox 3225 scanning to pc problem

I own this fax over a year.

Everytime i was scanning (to pc), i always got the same options: machine id, folder, color/grayscale, pdf/jpeg etc.

One day ago, suddenly, the option "scan to pdf /jpeg/tiff" disappeared and the scanner always chooses to scan to single jpeg.

I searched all the settings and couldn't find any options on that matter.

Hi

I really do not know where I am going wrong!

I am trying to set up scanning to a folder on the network and it keeps coming back with an error (018-755), I have also tried to set up scan to e-mail - do I need to allocate the printer an e-mail address via our main providers?

Hi!

I signed up for SMTP2Go, confirmed our email address, got a user name and the smtp server information. I put the chosen email address as the sender and the server mail.smtp2go.com as SMPT server in the setting of our xerox machine, I only didn't find any slot for SMTP Port value that SMTP2Go displayed after registration. Then I tried scanning and emailing the scan, but unfortunately I still got the same error message - "authentification error".

What did I do wrong?

Should I also have changed the smtp server settings in my email program on our office computers or it isn't necessary?

Or does this failure mean that there is an internal problem in the machine that can not be repaired, so it's not a server problem as we thought?

That will happen if you are using port 139 instead of 445 doing an SMB scan to Windows 7 and up.

But generically speaking, make sure the port is 445(1) and if Windows 10, make sure the PC Domain name or Workgroup is before the username(2)

For the username, easiest method to get the exact right format is from the share within windows itself ala: <exactly how it shows within the brackets>

You also could update the printer, but it won't fix your issue here with the settings as they are now.

Can't email via Office365 account

I am at a loss here. There was a firmware update, and then a couple more. Scan to email stopped working. I tested the settings generally on the internal network to see if there was something wrong with our firewall but no. I erased the settings and just put in a simple POP account I created and it worked fine. But the Office365 account info would not work at all. I verified I have put in all the correct settings and even plowed through this forum looking for a solution but failed.

Finally I tried the Xerox App Gallery's Office365 platform but I see that there's already a known problem with that app allowing people to log in. So I'm back to trying to get this thing to work with the native software. My understanding at this point is that I may need to roll back the firmware to around 3 versions ago if i want this to work again. I will try my best to convey all the details below:

Current firmware version: 38.31.81

I have a custom domain for my Office365 account but it is through GoDaddy and I'm not sure if the my-domain.onmicrosoft.com is available to use but I've tried anyway without success. Note that my domain is a .us TLD so I'm not sure if the "us" part needs to be included in the URL. 

For reference, here are my SMTP settings:

Well, after all that, it looks like a few very strange SMTP settings managed to get it all working again. Here's the config for SMTP that worked for us. I've circled in red the two settings I found to be contradictory...

I would have considered port 25 a low security port but still using STARTTLS to be against each other. But the fact is that this works! I can't explain it but who cares?? I pounded away at this machine all night long trying different combinations of settings but I would have never even considered this a possibility.

 

Ok I'm gonna call this issue resolved for me.

Check EWS>System>Security>SSL/TLS Settings and change whatever the status if this setting is currently.

(I'm working on nothing more than a hunch here honestly, but it may be the solution)

I still can´t scan by usb ..

I already know it's due to a Xerox update (#1803), but I really need the link to overcome this ...

It's urgent ... It's my daily resource ...

FAX and AUDIT LOG

I have 2 of the XEROX ALTALINK C 8055 devices in our office. I am having staff complain that FAXES are not outgoing correctly. I have downloaded the audit log and from what I am seeing, it is working correctly. There are 2 entries that I am not sure how to decipher:

1) COMP-TERMINATED and IIO-Success. These appear to be intermingled with COMP-NORMAL and IIO-Success.

Are these both successful tranmissions?

 

2) The COMP-TERMINATED may be followed with FAX ID# being the same for 2 differnt FAX dsetinations or a single destination followed by a blank number and 

Copying - getting wrong paper size from different tray

My WC7970 is copying on wrong paper size.

I have the tray 4 default to size 8.5 x 11.

When copying (original paper 8.5x11), the machine keeps getting the paper from tray 3 (8.5x13).  It just starts doing this today.  I look every where and can not find where to tell the machine not to get paper from tray 3. I adjusted the feeder and also the sizing on the tray but still not working.

Also the machine shows Tray 4 as A4 with mm settings, but I select inch as default not millimeter.

Please help.

If you are making copies and selecting tray 4 it cannot use tray 3, so either you just expect it to print to tray 4 when using auto select for the tray or you are talking about a print job.

8*13 can't even be loaded in tray 3,it is dedicated to either A4 or Letter,the guides physically can't go past 11.8 inches. and if it tries to pick A4 when you load it you just move the guides and re-close the tray.

If you can't get it to work, you will need a technician to fix tray 3 as it would have to be physically broken.

Let me correct my previous statement.  The printer grabs from tray 2 (8.5x14) by default when making photocopy.  It grabs paper from tray 4 if manully select tray 4.  If I don't select tray 4 before copying, it will grab paper from tray 2, which has 8.5x14.

Printing seems to be fine.  It always default and gets paper from tray 4.

I see tray 4 settings for paper size is A4 (210 x 297 mm) and I cannot change it to Letter (8.5x11").

is normal fisrt scann then print ?

Hi, I have a B8055 altalink printer, my question is. When I want to photocopy it is normal that I first sweep all the sheets and then the photocopies?

I'm really sorry, but I still cant seem to get it to work!

Its still giving me the error (0018-755)

There is no log in name on the computer, when I go through your explanation below it only shows Everyone as an option.

As another option I attempt to select the network option to scan, however it say that there is an unexpected communications error occured.

We often get stacks of paper work that need to be scanned, we always know that each document set is 3 pages. Is there a setting im missing that would allow us to set a stack of these documents on the doc feeder and have it create a new "segment" after every 3 pages scanned? The job build function doesnt seem to do the trick since you have to feed 3 sheets at a time to build the job segments. Call me crazy but i thought i remember this option on the older 072 software.

Looking for this option in USB/Email scanning, as we do not have the ability to set up any of the other scan utilities at this location.

Trouble using SIP to fax with the Fax Over IP enablement kit.

I have a customer that has purchased and enabled the Fax Over IP kit for their Versalink machines, we went with Versalink primarily for this function, and we're uanble to get it to complete a fax successfuly. When testing it we get either error code 033-545 or 033-593. I feel like we're really close to getting this configured correctly but it's not something that I have setup before and we're finding the documentation to not be as helpful as we would like.

 

Additionally there is one other thing that was unexpected which we discovered and we'd like to know if the device is working as intended or if it's something that should be addressed by Xerox. When enabling SIP as our faxing protocol the LANFax, fax from desktop via driver, function in the driver disables via SNMP. I understand that this function is primarily intended to work with the analog fax function but it seems like the job should be able to queue and send over SIP as well. Afterall to change to SIP all we do is change the send method for the fax app in EWS.

 

Any support that you can provide in regards to either of these questions is greatly appreciated.

What is the original size set to? This is implying it is either set to legal, or the sensor sees the original as being legal when it isn't. If it is the sensor, you would need a tech

This confirms it is a settings issue or sensor for the original then, the sensor isn't used by prints obviously.

Move the tray guides out then in and close the tray, if it still says A4 the guides are no longer attached to the sensor and you need a tech

Delete the Document path completely, there should not be anything there.

You can't not have a username, it isn't possible.

Assuming you have a password for your account, use it, if you don't have a password, or don't know it, you have to create a user on the PC and give it a password, then add it to the share by clicking Add in the above screenshot in the folder sharing.
