Same device, I'm trying to set up SMB scanning through the address book. I see a field to enter login name but no area to enter a password. What am I missing?

Here's how I sucessfully managed to send myself an email from the web interface
System --> Remote Service upload --> Settings --> Checked all checkboxes and added my email adress --> OK (Don't bother with the Test connection... it's not for mail)
Upload now
From a known working printer I sucessfully received an email
I'm troubleshooting my other printers this way... no email = smtp not working...
...At least this way I don't have to ask a user to manually test a scan everytime I change a config

Enable HTTPS on the device, you don't want passwords in plaintext so Xerox does not allow it when the page is not secure.

Apple made the change, not Xerox, you don't look to Xerox for help when Apple caused the problem.
Apple provided FTP for free, then they took that away, at no part of that did Xerox make any decision and there is no reason for them to do so.
If you want to use FTP you have to get an FTP service, do not blame Xerox for that.
If you want SMB to work, assuming it is properly setup on the Mac, just update the firmware on the printer and use SMB. While it did not work in earlier software (Due to Apple using their proprietary AFP in SMB's place), Apple later went with the Standard SMB2.
So for the Mac, just Apple > System Preferences > Sharing
Add the folder, add the user with Read&Write , remember the IP (highlighted) then click Options
Make sure SMB is checked
Then set it up in the Address book

Scan To Email - SMTP Error - Correct Configuration
Hello,
My company has many Xerox WC's (different models) all set up to scan to email. Our 7775 won't work - citing inability to connect to the SMTP server. All of them have the exact same configuration, what could be causing this?

1. Time/date/DNS/ or Gateway settings on the 7775 is wrong
2. 7775 has a Fiery attached which would make the setup entirely different than the others.
3. 7775 has a firmware not compatible with the mail server (this would be the case if it has not ever worked to the server, not if it just stopped working "for no reason today"), The latest firmware is 061.090.227.19300 and should fix most issues with cmpatibility
The actual fault code would be more helpful than "won't work"

I am having this same issue with my 7855, I have cleaned the glass and replaced the drum cartridges and still getting the blue line, Any ideas? Thanks!

Drum is for copy/print, it is not a part of scanning.
If you cleaned the glass and it happens on the platten as well as the ADF then you would require a technician because the CVT is bad.

Sorry, CVT = Constant velocity transport
On 2nd thought , it is quite likely an issue with the the actual scan module (the light bar).
In any case, it is still a technician visit

I tried this on a new machine, my screen matches yours, no password place. Powered off and back, still no password place.
It is a B405, 38.21.41 software vs.

Then wipe it and reload it. The only thing that limits the address book password field on current firmware is the HTTPS option.
Exactly the firmware you have on the identical machine
Password field shows because HTTPS is enabled and that is verified right here in the addressbar of the screenshot
And it disappears when HTTPS is disabled, as shown here on the exact machine 2 minutes later with HTTPS disabled again.

VersaLink C405 Fax delay

How can we configure the delay in the fax response in a VersaLink C405?
We have checked all the options in the control panel and in the web page and we have not found any option where this parameter can be configured.

It has no such feature.
You have the choice of it answering immediately or manually. It is not designed to share a phone line, I don't think Xerox makes any machines that still do that.

there is a new SPAR firmware out, this fixes the black confirmation sheet issue
since its a SPAR release, this firmware is not found on the xerox.com site, an older version is only available
so call xerox and ask for this version : xx.21.51
