Re: book copying -larger than 8 1/2 x 11 - WorkCentre 5890

Since Auto reduce/enlarge only works on standard paper sizes you need to specify what the size of the pages are in the book or nobody can help. But the answer is just going to be to set the original size to the page size and make the copies with the right amount of reduce/enlarge to get the size correct, and it won't be perfect in most cases since reduce enlarge is not done on the X and Y axis independently. So if the books aspect ratios is not the same as the output stocks folded aspect ratio, it will have odd margins.

Evoke lifelike images within the mind

Evoke lifelike images within the mind. We, humans, have an inbuilt face-recognition software. Pick the first feature in the person's face that grabs your attention―create a caricature in your mind―something in their face that makes them remarkable. Dramatize a distinguishing feature, it can be anything like nose, eyebrows, but avoid characteristics like attire, glasses―something that is easily changeable. Logically, associate with an animal or object. If you tend to forgetting names, why not associate them with animals or objects? This is quite normal for some  Neurovarium of us. For instance, if the name is Mary Kitten―ah, there you got it! But be careful not to reveal it to them. Find a rhyme. Find a word that rhymes with the name. For example, "Kerry Berry". Easy? Synonyms, anyone? Did you try associating the name with something of similar meaning? Do that, it helps. For example, Clifford ... Cliff ... Mountain. Works for people with famous names! When you hear the name, first substitute it with a popular name―a famous personality, a business tycoon―that you can't associate with visual images. For instance, Jennifer Hershey can remind you of Jennifer Lopez. Find the Trigger. After your first conversation, repeat their name and something memorable you learned about them in your head a few times. For instance, "Isabella is into blogging." or "Chris likes cooking." or "Emily is a state champion in swimming." Associate names with things that people are ought to tell you―their hobbies, their profession, etc. Ascertain Alliterations.

Make alliterations mentally, instantly after

Make alliterations mentally, instantly after you hear a name. You can pick something from their introduction. For instance, Jennifer is from Jersey. ASK I know, it's embarrassing, but you gotta do it, rather than losing on it forever. You can start out with a compliment, such as "I've had fun talking to you, and I've totally forgotten your name." If you've blanked on a name just a few seconds after introduction, you can be honest and say: "I'm sorry, I missed your name." And finally, repeat their name in the conversation. And the most natural way to do it is to conclude your conversation with their name. National Geographic arranged a contest for making a mnemonic for the planetary system, including the dwarf planets. The winner was 10 year old Maryn Smith, who designed the mnemonic: "My Very Exciting Magic Carpet Just Sailed Under Nine Palace Elephants." Mnemonics are memory aids that help us recollect information. When there are tons of things in your head, recollecting them becomes difficult. Also, as students, we all had a tough time trying to recollect difficult terms, ending up losing our scores. To aid our memory, we all used a simple mnemonic technique, giving acronyms, or making a funny sentence out of keywords, etc.

Setting up C405 scan to pc

Hi,

struggling to set up scanning to my pc, can't work out how to do it.

Have a VersaLink C405 that I got last week - printing is fine, faxing fine, but cannot scan.

From looking through here, in handbook (not that great imo), and google searches I have tried to make an address book entry for the PC I want to scan to, and a folder that I have shared - is this via the SMB field?

xerox smb.png

No idea what info needs to be input for it to work though, and can't find any guides that explain this accurately

Any help is appreciated

thanks,

Clive

Sorry - forgot to add: windows 10 home, version 1703, os build 15063.608, 64 bit

Try 57.05.22. Nobody has reported your issue, so hopefully the update resolves it because I can't replicate that in the Xerox lab and I tried on 4 different C70XX devices.

Capture.JPG

IP of PC = Click on your start menu, type CMD and hit the Enter key. Type ipconfig in the new window and hit Enter

2.JPG

Find the IPv4 address and put it in the first field

3.GIF

Now, we need the Share

Click on the Start menu and this time type 2 back slashes and the IP address found in the above and hit Enter

(In my case it is Start >\\192.1638.2.36 > Enter

In my case, I will find "Scans" and "Users", and I want to send them to Scans

12.GIF

So now I type Scans in the box for the Share

Document path is not needed, leave it blank

Login name is finicky, format it like it is found here (in the brackets), just right-click your shared folder in Windows and go to Properties, get to the point in the screenshot and add your username you use to log on and make sure it has Full control, then type in the username as it exists within the brackets

WorkCentre 3225 will not complete scan to email

We have a WorkCentre 3225 at our store which has the following issue:

  1. Normal scan-to-email procedure (from, to, another address >no)
  2. "Scanning..."
  3. "Another Page?" >No
  4. "Sending..."
  5. "Cancelling"

It is then stuck "cancelling" until the unit is power cycled. While it says "cancelling", it will pull up address book, 'machine status', 'email features', or 'from email', but it won't take any other input or perform any functions until power cycled. Have tried different addressess / different formats, would like any suggestions as to what might cause this.

Thanks!

Scott

~EDIT~ SMTP configuration test from browser interface was successful.

~EDIT 2~ Disabling Send-To-Self causes an actual clearable error, "Send Error (AUTH)". Not sure how this is possible when auth is successful during SMTP test.

~EDIT 3~ Scan-to-Email works for an internal email address as long as send-to-self is disabled. If sending to self is enabled, the printer hangs on "cancelling". I'm going to assume this is not an issue with the Xerox and is instead on our end.

4265 Landscape Stapling

I have a 4265 that will not landscape staple while copying.  The only way to feed docs into the ADF is SEF.  Also, paper can only be loaded in the trays SEF as well.  Say I have an original that is already in landscape format.  I load it face up in the ADF SEF (only way), select staple landscape, and it comes out stapled on the wrong corner.  The only fix we can seem to find is loading the originals FACE DOWN, going in and selecting 2-sided, and landscape staple.  Obviously this many steps isn't going to fly.  I cannot find this issue addressed anywhere in firwmare or SPAR for this device.  I also do not see any landscape staple options in the print driver.  We are using the Global Print Driver PCL6.  Any ideas?

Replying to my own post to add....I was looking for an "original orientation" setting like some of the bigger devices have, so I could designate the original as being landscape, but couldn't find any such setting.  I guess "auto-rotating" isn't a thing on these devices since there's only one way to feed the paper? I'm stumped.

Hi, how are you,

In the office we have a Xerox WorkCentre 7845 printer.

Recently the drum cartridge (Drum Cartridge) 013R00662 was changed, and after that the following problems were presented:

1.- The printer started to stain the sheets (footer area) when any document is printed (this problem is presented in Tray 1, Tray 2, Tray 3)

01.jpg

02.jpg

2. When you try to print from Tray 4, the printer emits a hard and loud sound; then reports that the paper is jammed, however, when checking, no jammed paper is found.

I hope you can help me.
Greetings.

I need to set up my C405 to scan to email, but I can't seem to get the SMTP info set up properly. Is there anything (or anyone) who ca help me with what goes in the various setup fields (with examples). I assume the information required is similar to setting up SMTP inOutlook or on a phone, but I am having no luck getting it to work and the manual is really not helpful.

What SMTP server/service are you using?

Assuming you are saying a person is at the device making a 5 page copy and somebody sent a print job, the only way the copy job would have stopped is if the person at the copier allowed that to happen by selecting the Interrupt button.

If the person was making 5 copies as separate jobs, the machine doesn't care if a person is just there, if the  copier is not currently printing a task (the persons copy job) and they are just setting a setting or loading paper, then the print job will just output, there is no way around that.
