How to delete entry in phonebook or how to edit XPB2-File

Hello,

 

we use the phonebook from the printerdriver regarding Xerox workcentre 7830.

If i choose "Fax" to send a fax via PC i can add entries like name, faxnumber etc for the actual print or i can store them permanently.

 

But what if i want to delete or edit an entry? In the GUI it seems that i'm not able to delete or edit any entry i made.

When i edit an entry and store it, its just a new entry.

 

I found out, that the entries are stored in a default.xpb2-file.

I'm not able to open it in an editor like notepad++ or equivalent. The shwon informations are just gibberish.

 

Can anybody please tell me, how if edit or/and delete entries in the GUI?

ColorQube 8900x Scan to Email test successful, actual scans fails

We are using Scan to Email utilising an office 365 connector.
The configuration works for the test configuration, and the email comes through almost instantly.

 

When we do a Scan to Email on the machine however, it very rarely works (but does sometimes)

 

The following has been checked:
IP address of Printer is DHCP with reservation and no conflicts on network (have tested static to no change)
DNS servers are specified and working (included 8.8.8.8 as a test to no change)
SMTP server has been specified correctly (tried both hostname of COMPANY-co-uk.mail.protection.outlook.com and IP address)
Port 25
SMTP authentication is "none" for both user jobs and system jobs (as it uses a connector and not a live user account).

Encryption STARTTLS (if available)

File size 20480/Fragments 1/Total job 2000000 we have experimented with this to no effect.

Firmware 072.162.004.09100

Firewall has been opened to allow all outgoing traffic from printer (as a test, not going to be permanent)

Email address

Tested on admin user as well as guest

 

After sitting on processing for about 5 minutes it chucks out a report which says:
Job Status: FAILED Failure transferring job to network server

 

What am I missing?

I have control over everything. The printer is at my home and its on my home network.

WC 7210 SSL Issues for Centreware & Network Folder scan

As per title:

 

Client had issue accessing Centreware for configuring their Network Scan folder (err_ssl_bad_record_mac_alert). When called on site, I realised the SSL certificate (self-signed) for the 7120 had expired. Turning off SSL allowed me to access the Centreware app, but of course, I cannot configure SMB scanning without SSL turned on. 

 

The system is currently on firmware 71.23.53, with the current fw available from SPAR being 71.24.12. My question is whether the firmware is the cause of our SSL conundrum, or if it's deeper than that. 

 

On-site system being used to access CW is a Win10 Pro, using Chrome, FireFox, Edge and IE11 (because when you've exhausted all other possibilities, you get desperate).

I found a solution.

It's the program under this path:

 

C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3\x2fpbVH.exe

 

With that i can open the file and edit, delete, add etc. entries.

It was just not the standard program for XPB2-Files.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. No you can not print and forward a fax.  I would suggest forwarding the fax and then printing it from the forward location.  Please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance. 


Sidewise scans on a ColorQube 8900

We have had a list of issues over the past 12 months with ColorQube 8900s and today our 3rd machine (a refurb) was installed. One problem we are having is a normal Workflow Scanning to the public folder shows up sideways, blurry (lower res?) and with a different file name than what we have in settings (default is DOCxxx.pdf, bad scan show up as Scanxxx.pdf). The problem is intermittent affecting as many as 25% of our scans and sometimes maybe 1 in 20. I am trying to link it to periods of inactivity but it can happen in thee middle of the day.

 

The first scan on our "new" refurb machine (OS 072.162.004.09100) was sideways with the different file name. When rescanned it came  in fine, full-res, with the proper DOCxxx.pdf file name.

 

Has anyone else seen this issue? Isn't three Xerox ColorQubes in one year excessive?

Hi Cyril,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. To enable the USB Scan follow these steps:

  1. Access Centreware Internet Services
  2. Click On the Properties Tab. Log in as administrator. (default username is admin, password is 1111)
  3. Select Services on the left side of the page to expand the list of options
  4. Select Scan To USB
  5. Select General
  6. Select Enabled
  7. Press The Apply Button

If the scan button is not showing on the User Interface / screen please follow these instructions to turn it on.

USB scanning is accessed through the Workflow Scanning Icon

1. Open CWIS. 

2. Click the [Properties] tab.  Log in as administrator. (default username is admin, password is 1111)

3. Click on [Services] on the left side of the page to expand the list of options

4. Click on [Display] under Services

5. On the right side select [Show/Hide]

6.Select the box beside [Workflow Scanning] to put a check in the box and show the icon on the UI

7.Select Apply

8. Close page

 

If this does not fix the issue please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Workcentre 7556 SMB Workflow Scanning

We have recently acquired a 7556 multi-function and I am unable to get the workflow scanning to work. I receive the message "Login failure. Check user password, and/or setups." whenever I try. We have several other xerox multi-function - 2 7970s and 2 5890s, which do workflow scanning fine, and I copied the exact settings to the new one but it doesn't work. I have updated the firmware to the latest: 061.121.227.24300 and tried both port 445 and 139. We are scanning via SMB to a Windows 2008 server. Any help is appreciated.

The other 2 models support SMB2, but the 75XX does not and never will, so if you disabled SMBv1 due to the WannaCry thing you are out of luck, you will need to move to FTP.

This was done, but the CWUI still errors out with SSL turned on.

It doesn't exist in VersaLink products, and isn't intended to be there.

 

The 7835 is the Connectkey family, AltaLink is near identical to Connectkey, but Versalink has much less than them feature wise.
