1) I'm using the exact same network settings as my own computer has (mask/gate/dns), except for the IP address.

2) I can ping the printer IP from cmd and get a response.

3) I'm afraid I don't know what to do here. Connect to the server from my computer with an FTP client?

Thank you for being patient with me!

Until you do the step above in my post as well as the one I re-input below here, it cannot work, and FTP won't at all help an email problem

Upgrade to the latest firmware from this link.

If you disabled SMBv1 on the server, it isn't going to work, you will need to switch to FTP instead.

SMB is on port 445, not 446

Server path builds on the share folder, so you just told it to log into smb:\\192.168.10.100\scanacc\192.168.10.100

So delete everything in the Server path, it isn't needed unless there is a folder inside scanacc

The printer is not part of the domain, so if the account it uses is a domain account, you need to format it as such (domain\username or user@domain) Easiest way to confirm proper formatting is to add the user to the share and type it as it appears in brackets.

7845: Scan to Folder Template Broke

$

Hello all!

I am trying to figure out how to correct an issue with the scan to folder in one of the XST templates; I changed the credentials in the destination and it tests fine but a user has to be logged on in order for it to work.  The scan does not work correctly under Guest mode.  It did work in Guest mode before the password in Active Directory expired and that is what I changed in the template.  I don't have experience with the XST way of doing this, only via the Address Book.  Has anybody messed much with those XST templates?

Thanks in advance!

Xerox C75 SMB General Operation Error

I am getting a general smb error when trying to modify scan settings for the Fiery console.

Nobody can use the function currently. Scan to email does work.

I have rebooted the system many times, always getting the same error when scanning as well.

You are going to need to explain this issue more clearly.

If you created templates on Fiery Webtools, update the Fiery and it may resolve the matter, there was a bad patch by EFI a month or 2 ago that broke scanning ability of Fiery scan templates, they put out a patch to resolve it.

If you create the template in CWIS, then you should have a fault code to define what actually is failing, we will need that, if it is 017-714 it would mean you must have disabled SMBv1 on the PC you are scanning to, if that is the case you will need to go with FTP since the IOT does not support SMBv2

You have 4 options in the templates, Stored in template is the one that allows you to set the username and password the template will use, the first 2 options are to use the username and password of the logged in user (you need to be logged into the printer before you select the template, and you need to have the printer set to something like Network authentication or badge card readers to do it)

3rd option is self explanatory

Scanner error. User intervention is required to Power Off/On the machine; service is required if problem persists. Scan and Copy services are disabled; Print and other machine services are unaffected.

Thank you for your response!!  The credentials are already stored in the templates - the issue really is that the scan fails unless the user mode is logged on to an account -- any account -- local to the WorkCentre before it will stop failing to successfully scan to the destination.  I am trying to find out why simply changing the credentials used for the destination suddenly requires logging onto the control panel physically before it works without error whereas before it did not matter the user mode.  Any idea?

Thanks again!

Seems to be missing information here.

Either they can't scan when logged out because they need an XSA account for scan (Scan won't fail, they can't do it in the first place)

Or they are simply not selecting the template at all, they are using either the default template, or one for scan to home.

The issue they see makes sense out of the context you are providing, but it makes no sense in the context you are providing.

Assuming a relatively new firmware, it can do Wireshark traces itself, and you can just compare the scenarios to see what is up and where it is different

Sorry, the missing information is from a lack of experience.  I am operating off of what the main user is telling me.  I will do my best here:

When it was working desirably:

User selects one of three templates set up by "a guy from Xerox."  These are not the default template (each one has different settings like OnePage or Searchable).  All point to the same destination and use the same SMB credentials based on an Active Directory domain account.  User described it as "one touch" scanning.

When the password expired:

Scans using any of the templates ceased functioning, would fail citing incorrect password and delete the job.

After entering corrected password into the template:

Scans still fail even though destination test passes.

Creating account into Device User Database:

Templates still fail unless logged into the account created in the Device User Database and the user is not happy having to log onto the interface on the 7845 every time they wish to use the templates.

I am unsure of what the hangup is with calling "the guy from Xerox" to correct it once agin but it is inconvenient when there is an issue with authentication that it requires a visit to remediate so I am trying to figure out what needs to be done to get it working the way it has been.

Thank you again!

Your support and website have now officially gone SOUTH. I am trying to get information as per this users post below. I go to that web page and search "scan to application". Not one dam search item gets returned but only general terms. So I decide to explore a link and click on it, nothing happens. NONE of the retuned links work. Not ONE...holy crap...how are you supporting your customers. Oh..I figured it out...YOU DON"T.

Xerox is now officially DEAD in my mind. Products not worth the the time and effort to troubleshoot becasue its pointless.

The sooner I can toss these boat anchor's into the ocean the better off we will be.

Xerox used to be a great name. Not any more. Xerox will be the last resort and maybe not even then.

You have failed.

Hello,

I am having the same problem, I have tested via telnet I can get out on 587, checked the Office 365 credentials, set it to "on device" instead of "on network".

I was also on 68.10.91 but now have upgraded to the SPAR of 68.11.23.

We are using STARTLS and SMTP AUTH.

When a user does a test scan we get 027-504.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You really only have 3 choices in my mind:

1. Wipe the device and start fresh

2. Delete all the templates, and Addressbook entries, and Scan to locations, and one-touch entries and recreate only those that are needed.

3. Use the remote control panel in CWIS, watch the user do both options in the Remote control panel, and Wireshark both attempts, if the user isn't the problem, then you are back to option 1 or 2.
