WorkCentre 6027 cannot scan multiple pages on platen to PDF

I have just upgraded from WorkCentre 6015 to WorkCentre 6027.

I am trying to scan multiple page expense reports using the platen. I cannot use the document feeder (ADF? because the pages have receipts pasted onto them.

On the old 6015 you could scan multiple pages to single PDF.

In the new 6027 I cannot find an option or way to do this. On Xerox MFP mahcines there is "job function" that you turn on or off. On this 6027 I cannot find. I am scanning to PDF which is a format that will accept multiple pages.

Any advice on how to solve would be appreciated.

The Wireless receiver is low power, it is not nearly as strong as a laptop is, so a weak signal is weaker to it than it is to other devices.

Since it is a hotel, make certain it is on the real network and not a Guest network, they don't work for printers for obvious reasons.

If you can, put the printer right next to a router and set it up (Eliminates the weak signal and proves you did not mess up the set up)

Then move it farther and farther away to test it's limits in range (It might work at a good distance sine it already knows the settings at that point)

Failing that you would need to switch to a repeater/bridge to "bridge" your WiFi to a router and plug into it.

WC 6515 won't email different domains than SMTP login

I've managed to setup our WC6515 to email properly (took a few days...), but it only allows emailing to addresses on the same domain as I use for login - Office365 (xxx-com.mail.protection.outlook.com). We have a few different companies in our office and somehow we need to make it possible to scan/email to their addresses. Logically it seems as if there is a setting needed on the registrar/web host side?

Office365 mail is on smtp.office365.com port 587 and uses STARTTLS

What you are using (I assume xxx is your domain name) is the unauthenticated mail server for use with aging systems that cannot authenticate to industry standards, which is limited and cannot, at least by default, do SMTP relay (Email to external domains)

The exact thing happens when you use gmails ASPMX server.

If you don't want to have the printer use the real server and a real email account (Because it will need to authenticate to it) then you need to setup a Connector on your Office365.

Folders are case sensitive, so check that.

Pretty certain the leading \ in your sub directory will cause an issue

Confirm the username you are using is identical to how it appears in here within the brackets (Doesn't matter if it works on another machine "just like how you have it")

win10SMB.GIF

And look into your DNS settings, if the box for Append Device domain name is checked, un-check it and try again.

And don't work too hard on it if you are not on the latest firmware, you would hate to waste time on an un-fixable issue due to incompatible firmware

I am almost certain it cannot do SMB2 though, so if you patched Wannacry and then went and Disabled SMBv1 anyway, it may not work, in which case you would need to switch to FTP.

Altalink C405 Fax Volume

Is there a way to adjust the volume of the Fax speaker? I have found the setting for Incoming and Outgoing fax volumes on the Versalink but was unable to find the similar setting on the Altalink. I have looked through the settings on both the Machine UI and the Webpage. Thanks.

As far as I know the C405 is Versalink, not AltaLink, so here is how its done on both.

AltaLink is Device > Tools > App Settings > Fax App > Fax Volume

Versalink is Device > General > Sounds > Fax Processing Tones

You are correct, I had the two mixed up. I have edited my original post to reduce confusion. I will look for the setting and accept the solution if I can get that adjusted.

WorkCentre 7428: Manage templates for Network Scanning

$

Hi,

I simply cannot find a way to manage (add/delete) the Network Scanning templates on my WC 7428. The "System Administrator Guide" explains to great detail how to set up the file repositories, and how to configute the Default template; but it des not say how to manage additional templates (my machine has 2 additional templates; their names start with "@..." for some reason) or add a new one.

I understand that there is an option to store the Templates on a server, but this doesn't seem to work for me (the same parameters work fine for FTP scanning, but the WorkCentre never even attempts to connect to the server for the profiles), and also I don't know how to create the template files in the first place.

Any pointers? Thanks in advance!

Click on Scan select the template you want to remove(1) and click Delete(2)

I can't for the life of me figure out how your spell check could have taken "When I turn on the machine" to When I cut the machine"

But I will go ahead and assume it did since a broken machine is the expected outcome of stabbing it ;-)

Assuming "Initializing" is the only status, and it never boots, or it happens when you attempt a copy/fax.

Bad Memory modules will do that, try shutting down and re-seating if possible. (You will need to find a "Xerox 3315 Service Manual" online. (I think they are just USB thumb drives if I remember correctly)

Xerox WorkCentre 6027 Scan to Network- 031-534 Error

I was hoping for some help!  I have been trying to set up our new Xerox Computer and I got the Printer working and on the Network but trying to get the Scan to Network to work!  Can you help?

I have Setup my Shared Folder and have it set to share with everyone.  Looks like its connecting to the computer but I am getting error 031-534 stating Create Folder Error.

I have these filled In

Name of Shared Directory: Scans

Subdirectory Path (optional):  C:\Users\MMAutry\Desktop\Scans

Thanks

Ah... d'oh. I kept looking on the Properties tab. Didn't expect it to be on the Scan tab.

Thanks a lot!

This is very wrong, get rid of the whole line "Subdirectory Path (optional):  C:\Users\MMAutry\Desktop\Scans"

Leave everything else the same

The reason is this, the printer looks at the settings in order, so it reaches out by SMB to the IP/Hostname of the PC and looks at what is shared via SMB, Assuming you have the actual Scans folder shared, it will be there, so that is all you need in the Shared Directory The Subdirectory is optional, and builds off the share above, there is no C:\Users\MMAutry\Desktop\Scans, there can't be, because windows won't even allow you to create a folder with c: in it, and drive letters do not exist in network shares, they are completely irrelevant. If you had more folders within the Scans folder, the subdirectory would be those.

So If Scans is shared , you see it as C:\Users\MMAutry\Desktop\Scans on your computer, but on the network, it would be seen as smb:\\192.168.1.100\Scans <IP address used only as an example)

But... If you put another folder within Scans called Mary and then inside Mary , you made another called Stuffs

It would show on your PC as C:\Users\MMAutry\Desktop\Scans\Mary\Stuffs

And on the network it would be smb:\\192.168.1.100\Scans\Mary\Stuffs

So in this totally un-needed and completely un-asked for example I am using as a teaching example, it would be set up like:

Name of Shared Directory: Scans

Subdirectory Path (optional):  Mary\Stuffs

I would suggest putting the "scans" folder on the root of the drive, sharing it there and then sending a shortcut to it to your desktop, the reason is that due to it being on the Desktop, it's within your profile, meaning it is not available when you are not signed in, where if it were on the root of the drive (c:\scans) it would be available to anyone who has a login no matter your signed in state
