CWIS > Scan > Job Templates

Choose the template you want to change on the left

Scroll down on the right and select Edit in the Layout Adjustment section

If you are using the Default template, make the same change to it within CWIS > Properties > Services > Network Scanning > Default template

There is no way to do that, Fax forward only takes 1 email address

Bad wireless signal

NIC set to wrong speed on the MFP.

Corrupted firmware.

Older broken firmware.

Bad network cable.

071 firmware was updated to 072 firmware instead of Altbooted.

Clone file from another device with a different firmware.

Xerox Workcenter 5855 scanner issue

This network printer pulls paper just fine while photocopying, but when I try to scan, the scanner light does not come on and the paper never gets pulled. Same thing from the glass. The only thing I see is the envelope icon and the status bar to the right of it which keeps going. Nothing else happens.

SMB Scanning to a Mac on a Xerox 5330

Greetings,

 

We are currently attempting to set up scan-to-SMB on a Mac with a Xerox WC 5330.  We have gone through the normal process of scan-to-SMB for the Mac; however, we cannot seem to make the perfect connection.  The WC 5330 is at the 53.30.11 Gen Rel; we have discussed updating the FW, although, there is nothing specific pertainin to Mac in the SPAR notes. 

 

We have begun troubleshooting here at the office and are coming up with the same problem with our WC 5330 with the second-to-latest FW; we are running Sierra on a Mac device. 

 

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Unless a fault code is generated, or you see a message at the upper left of the screen that we can go from there is not enough to go on.

With that in mind, run a Software / Network Reset and try again.

This is done at the copier by logging on as the admin, select Machine Status > Tools > Troubleshooting > Resets and choose the option that resets both (No settings will be lost) then try a scan.

If that fails, update the firmware to the latest, see if that fixes it.

 

If all fails, you likely need somebody onsite to troubleshoot.

Since you didn't post what the original was I can't understand what should have been there.

 

Having said that, Black is what happens under bright light or when the scanner light dies, so make a copy of nothing with the lid open and watch the light and see if it is dead. If not, verify if it happens off the glass and off the feeder.

 

Also make sure the original size and output size are the same.

Have not been able to fix issue. We have uninstalled everything out tech team is here now and they have tried opening firewall grant access etc etc.

What suggestions do you have before I ramp this up?

some errors are "DSMR stopped working..."

There are other errors as well but the tech would have those.

I'm in the same situation where the disabling of SMBv1 broke our scan to file feature on the 7556. The 7990 is currently working fine when we do scan to file through the address book. It looks like the 7556 doesn't have that same feature so I've setup the exact same options through workflow scanning and I'm still getting a login failure. This is on the 7556's newest firmware version.

Tested it again today on 061.121.227.03404 and it scans with no issue from the 7556 to Server 2003-2008R2-2012-Win10.

 

Wireshark traces show it using SMB2 to both Win 10 and Server 2012, didn't have time to trace the others.

 

Call Xerox, get 2nd level support, they will probably require an Altboot since I can't replicate your issue in their own test environment, they will need a config sheet, Server information and likely will want a Wireshark trace of the failure (They can help you do that if need be)

Username is wrong, protocol might be (For any current OS you use port 445 not 139 for smb, username should be the fully qualified one, which is obtained like this (Use the one in the brackets):

Hi everyone,

Our shop is having a slight problem with accessing our scanned documents and images using the Fiery Scan 5 software, although we have used the Fiery Scan 5 software for years and had no problems until recently.

Basically, our Docucolor 242 died about 2 weeks ago for no reason at all, then all of a sudden revived itself out of no where after about 15/20 minutes! However, now, although we can do more or less everything we used to be able to do with it, (i.e. print/ copy/ scan) we can not access our scanned files via Fiery Scan 5 anymore! It recognises our Doculor and connects to it no problem, but we can no longer log in to our guest username. Fiery Scan 5 brings up a message saying "Can't open mailbox "guest". Please verify the mailbox name and password." (preview below) although we haven't touched or altered any settings.

We have tried reconnecting numourous times, rebooting the server, we've even tried accessing the i.p address and seeing if anything has changed on there.

We have searched and searched all over Google on how to "verify the mailbox and username" but there's no information anywhere that can help us. We have contaced Xerox and they can not help us over the phone and suggested sending an engineer out to us but at a price...

 

Please can ANYONE help us access our scanned documents and images again, or are we going to have to take the loss of needing to call an engineer out to resolve our issue!?

Just because the Fiery is online does not mean that the scan service is running.

 

So open Webtools and see if you can see the scans there and retrieve them, but I'm thinking you won't.

Likely you will get an error about Mydocs not loading, in which case you would likely lose a lot of settings to resolve it.

 

The 2 methods would be to

1. Reset the Fiery, which will delete every job and customization on it, you would have to set it all back up again

2. Have the Fiery loaded by a Xerox tech, which does the same as above, but also wipes any updates or patches from the system, Xerox is not responsible for those so it would be up to you to either install them manually (Well over 100 of them) or set the machine with DNS and enable the auto updates through EFI.

 

 

Attached pdf guides through option number 1, skip webtools though, use CWS via Server > Configure and just hope Java lets you do it.
