6027 Scan Feeder Issue

When I copy the printer recognizes if I have a document in the feeder and will pick it up automatically.  When I scan it doesn't recognize the feeder and scans from the glass.  I can change the setting but it reverts to the glass after each scan.  I want it to automatically recognize the feeder just like when I copy istead of having to go into settings each time.  Is there a way to override using one of the other?

Scan defaults are in Machine Status > Tools > Default Settings > Scan Defaults (Login as admin first of course)

121-312 IC Card Auditron Config Fail 02

Control Fail. When the power is turned On, an error occurred due to the combination of setting
that is not permitted.

• EP-related products other than IC Card Gate is connected (set), or IC Card Gate and
other EP-related products are connected (set) together.

• [Authentication/Counting Management] > [Authentication/Counting Operation] is set to
[External Authentication/Counting].

Procedure
Actions to be taken are as follows:
1. Activate without connecting EP-related product, and set [Authentication/Counting Management]
> [Authentication/Counting Operation] to other than [External Authentication/
Counting].

2. Attach the optional external authentication kit for IC card, and set the single connection of
IC Card Gate of EP-related product.

I've gone into this on the printer and there is no option und scan defaults regarding the feeder.

When you stated the following:

" I can change the setting but it reverts to the glass after each scan"

Can you clarify where in the menu at the device you are making this change?

There is on option for this change on the printer screen itself so I go into 'Windows Fax & Scan'/Tools/Scan Profiles/Edit/Source.  It only gives you the option of the feeder or the flatbed not both together.

So you are doing TWAIN scan (Application controlled), not Scan to PC (Xerox / User controlled).

TWAIN drivers cannot pick both, they need to do one or the other, and since you already have to go to the printer and put the paper in the feeder or on the glass, there should be no surprises. Due to this limitation, Microsoft uses profiles so you can have dropdown options. To create them you simply go into Scanners and Cameras > Scan Profiles > Add and make one for Feeder and one for flatbed

Set the one you will use most often as the default

Then in an app you should have the one you want as default at least. But there is no way to have both set as the source.

Xerox Scanning (Done from the printer) will feed the paper from whichever source automatically, identical to copies. TWAIN/WIA is simply unable to do it.

Yes, that's what I've been doing.  Too bad, so sad.  Thanks for you help!

Another misunderstanding then, you stated you were editing the source, not that you had 2 and simply changed the dropdown within the scan app each time it was needed, I was simply trying to make it a one step process instead of ten.

Fax jobs are deleted from memory, all that remains is the job time and source/destination you get on the fax report, not the fax itself.

  1. Press the [System] button on the Control Panel.
  2. At "Information Pages", press the [OK] button.
  3. If prompted, enter the 4-digit password, and then press [OK].
  4. Select a report:
    • "Speed Dial" Prints information about fax numbers, individual recipients, and group recipients.
    • "Address Book" Prints information about fax numbers, individual recipients, and group recipients.
    • "Server Address" Prints a list of server addresses.
    • "Fax Activity" Prints information about completed fax jobs.
    • "Fax Pending" Prints a list of faxes waiting to be sent.
  5. Press the [OK] button to print the report.

So is the fax itself working on the device? It sounds like it does not, and if that is the case it is a waste of time working at the PC

the fax itself is working on the device, and PC FAX also works on another computer that has windows 7, but not on this one.
