Xerox phaser 3010 problem

I have a problem with a printer xerox phaser 3010
the red light comes on in this code ! I need to do to fix i.

Not directly you can't.

 

 Closest way to do so would be to make a copy exactly how you want to make a scan (the options is there) ala Copy > Layout Adjustment > Book Copying > Both Pages > OK.

 

Once you have the copy, you can scan the copy output as a regular job to achieve the same end product.

 

 

Xerox 3325 COMM Error

We recently started recieving an error message when trying to send a fax on our Xerox 3325.  It lists the Result as a "COMM Error", however, it seems that the fax is still sending.  Could this be a bad network cable?  Or is it something more serious?

Red solid ! and other light blinks = Out of paper,Jammed, Wrong size paper loaded, or waiting for manual duplex

 

Red blinking ! and blinking other light = Canceling job or NVM initializing

 

Basically, unless a massive failure in hardware has occurred, unplug for 10 minutes, then boot it 3 times in a row and it should clear any job based fault.

Network cables are not used in fax, phone lines are. I would guess it is a phone line quality issue if all faxes, and a compatibility issue if always to one specific location.

 

Try listening to the transmission first:

Machine Status > System Setup > OK > Sound / Volume > OK > Speaker > ON > OK > OK > Stop

 

Remember where to do that because faxes are one of the most annoying sounds in the world.

 

The only other thing is to try out ECM (Error Correct mode), it will probably clear the error, but will take longer to send.

Machine Status > Fax Setup > OK > Sending > OK > Error Correct mode (ECM) > ON > OK

Hello and thanks for the excellent forum!  My question is whether it's possible with Xerox MFDs to enable SMB signing so that I can enable a setting as follows on my domain computers:

The most effective way to require SMB signing is by making the following changes to your domain group policy: Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (always) Policy Setting: Enabled Microsoft network server: Digitally sign communications (always) Policy Setting: Enabled Please note that this setting may cause issues with third-party applications and devices, such as multi-function copiers/printers and some versions of MacOS, from properly authenticating to your domain if they do not support SMB signing. We recommend placing these types of devices in a separate domain group in which SMB signing is not required. For more information on SMB signing, please consult Microsoft knowledge base article #887429 at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=887429 for specific operating system information on enabling SMB Security Signatures.

 

The forums that I have read where people have trouble with scanning always point to informing the user to DISABLE SMB Signing.  Well, now I have a security product in my environment that is telling me to ENABLE it but I'm pretty sure that it will break scanning.

 

Please advise so that I have a leg to stand on from the manufacturer (Xerox).  Thanks very much again!!

xerox workcentre 7855 will not receive fax from Specific number

We have a xerox workcentre 7855 at one of our offices. It sends and recieves faxes with no issue except for one specific number. It is one of the county offices and we can send a fax to them with no issue, issue is with receiving fax from this number. One of the agents at this office states that they can hear the fax coming in but then it appears the fax transmission just stops and nothing is received. The county office get a confirmation page when they send to us even though the fax is not received. Called the service provider who tested the line and found no issues. Any ideas? Thanks

The only thing you can do on the receiving side is the following:

 

Machine status > Tools > Service Settings > Fax Service > Incoming Fax Defaults > Advanced Capabilities > Disabled > OK > Close

 

 


multiple scan to email workflows

The client knows Single Touch scan cannot be set up as scan to email - but is looking to set up multiple scan to email workflows.  This is the email I received from the client:   

 

Using App Studio Scan to Email,  the template only allows the selection of Multipage PDF. However several users must to scan to email as 1 PDF file per Page.  Since it takes multiple steps to do this, the request was if a 1 touch button for email could be created for 1 PDF file per Page scan jobs. 

 

Is there anything we can do to help, other than additional software?

Hi - I searched through the admin guide and forums.  I read that there is an auto image rotate feature and enabled it.  It didnt work.  Here's what the end user wants

 

Feed 8.5x11 paper SEF in the ADF (or place orginal in landscape position on the glass).

Have the copier run the copying through trays 3/4 (LEF or portrait position), rather than dedicate another tray for 8.5x11 SEF

 

Copy jobs are erroring out with "required resources needed", 8.5x11 SEF.

 

I thought auto image rotate would take the 8.5 x 11 image and rotate it so that LEF paper trays could be used to print the image.

 

Any advice on what feature to use?

Thank you for the reply but I am unable to navigate to "Machine status > Tools > Service Settings > Fax Service > Incoming Fax Defaults > Advanced Capabilities > Disabled > OK > Close". I can go to "status" but no "tools" available(screenshot below). I have looked in all of the options but cannot find the referenced location to make this modification. Any idea? You have to go to the actual printer, most fax control needs to be done locally at the device, and this is one of those things.

What they want to happen is exactly how the copier works, which means they have something else that is conflicting with it.

 

So recheck that Auto rotate is on exactly like this in Machine Status > Tools > Service Settings > Copy Service > Auto image rotation...

And if all is right and it still wont work you could try updating firmware, but this issue is not listed as being an issue ever in any version, so this step is just "throwing things at the wall until something sticks" troubleshooting.

If you are on very new firmware (starts with 073) and are comfortable setting an exception in Java on your PC for all data to and from the printer, you can do this with the Remote control panel from the Support tab of the MFP webpage.

 

But due to ever changing security changes, this feature almost always requires the latest firmware versions on the MFP, and will require Https on the MFP as well as the exception being added in Java Security since it is highly unlikely you would have purchased a valid certificate for Https.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to change the measurements in the Custom Scan Area when scanning to email from inches to mm's.

Not specifically in that area, has to be global, just like a PC application like Photoshop. (Not sure why in either case)

And please, note, this will change your custom paper sizes to mm as well.

 

As admin go to Machine Status > Tools > Device Settings > General > Measurements and you can swap between Inches/mm

 

 

W10 driver for old scanner

I have a Xerox One Touch 2400 scanner (from the year 2004), but my computer died and I now have a newcomputer with Windows 10 (W10).  Windows cannot find any driver for my scanner so I cannot use it.  The CDs that came with the scanner included Paperport and Textbridge OCR and the driver, but maybe I could make do with the Windows 10 scanning apps if I could just find a driver.  The scanner has immense sentimental value for me, and I cannot really afford a new one.  Surely there is some way I could get it working on W10. Can anybody help me, please?

The one on the CD and the one on the scanner website work fine on Win 10 as long as you disable driver signing first.

 

 

Last I did it , it went like this to disable it

 

a. Press the Win + C and click on PC settings.

b. Switch over to the “Update & recovery” section.

c. Then click on the Recovery option on the left hand side.

d. Once selected, you will see an advanced startup section appear on the right hand side. You will need to click on the “Restart now” button.

e. Once your Computer has rebooted you will need to choose the Troubleshoot option.

f. Then head into Advanced options.

g. Then Startup Settings.

h. Since we are modifying boot time configuration settings, you will need to restart your computer one last time.

I. Here you will be given a list of startup settings that you can change. The one we are looking for is “Disable driver signature enforcement”. To choose the setting, you will need to press the F7 key.
