The software should be the one deciding what format, not the TWAIN driver. It would not make sense for the driver to decide since it would not know what format the requesting app can read. It wouldn't...

We can only help if you supply the fault you get when you try.But, update to the latest firmware is always step one in scan issues.

If you can't get into Download mode you need a tech. Some machines don't need the 4 held down, so you can try energy saver only while booting, but other than that it may be beyond repair.

Just going to add this here. @Joe053204-xrx And @gabiene instuctions are correct.Try using a different USB key. As it might be the key that could be the issue.

"Unable to start" and "can't scan" are simply not enough, I'm sorry, but you will probably need to call Xerox and get phone support or pay to have someone go to your location to set it up for you.
