Network problem with Phaser 3635MFP

Hi,

I am having intermittent problems with Xerox Phaser 3635MFP unit and the network connection. The unit is connected to a 10/100/1000 Mbps switch and every few weeks the unit becomes completely unresponsive via the network. I cannot print via network, no response to PING packet, etc, etc.

The unit is configured with a static IP so DHCP is not the issue. Appletalk, Netware, IPv6 are disabled. The network connection has been tested as have been all patch cords; everything is CAT6 certified.

To resolve the issue, we must do one of the following two procedures:

1) Unplug the patch cable at the switch and plug into a different switch port.

2) Leave the unit plugged in and connected to the network. After 24 hours, the unit resolves "whatever" issue prevented network access and it resumes talking on the network.

Powering off the Xerox unit does not solve the problem. Powering off the network switch does not solve the problem. Disconnecting reconnecting any of the network cables does not solve the problem. Switching the network card speed from AUTOMATIC to 100Mbps Full Duplex (or any other speed) does not solve the problem. We have swapped out the switch to a different make and model (& different manufacturer) and that did not solve the problem. Swapping network patch cords does not solve the problem.

The unit itself is running firmware v20.105.01.010 however I know that newer firmware versions are available. At another location where we had a Phaser 3635MFP installed, we had numerous problems and eventually the firmware was upgraded to v20.105.26.000. Where can I download or obtain this newer firmware?

Thanks,

Murray
