this only happens when i scan using the DADF whilest the prints and
glass coping are fine.
Does that mean that all copies are fine and scan isn't, or that copies and scans laid on the glass are fine, and copies and scans through the feeder are not?
The 2nd option is the more likely, and it would mean there is an issue on the (or one of) the small strips of glass used by the feeder. (All the hardware for a platen glass scan and an adf scan are identical except the piece of glass used, for an ADF feed the light stays still and the paper feeds across the light, and with the platen, the light moves and the paper stays still.
Anything that happens to a scan should also happen to a copy.
