Hi,

Let's hope the sensor is just dislodged and not broken.

First, to have better access you must remove the little cover behind the cover A, After that remove the bypass tray from it's 2 screws and unplug the 2 cables78xx TM.jpg

78xx TMremoved.jpg

Remove the metal guide (2 screws) that cover the sensor and the shaft:78xx metal guide3.jpg

release the shaft or remove it ( it have a E clip on the left)

78xx shaft.jpg

Finally remove the sensor (one screw)

Replace the sensor and put all back in reverse order.

Good luck!

Thanks. I have updated the machine successfully, and have now got the TLS Encryption setting, which I have set to 1.2. All seems well so far, and the Office 365 report is now showing TLS 1.2.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Nick

I have a xerox 7425, only tray 4 jams. I have replaced all rollers I can, and cleaned the others. It usually happens after a few copies and I cannot figure out the issue. Any help would be grateful!

HI,

Please provide a fault code from Fault History. Go to Machine Information button/Faults/Fault History.

It is possible to have a rest of paper remained on the paper path.

AltaLink C8000 series Fax Foward to SMB issue

Trying to get fax forwarding working and failing miserably. We previously had a Xerox WorkCentre 7970 that worked flawlessly via SMB to our Synology D115j NAS. I took screenshots and had it documented how it had it setup.

Protocol: SMB
IPv4 Address: 192.168.1.xxx:445
Share: Fax
Document Path: \
Login Name: USERNAME_HERE
Password: PASSWORD_HERE

That worked great until we "upgraded" to the AltaLink C8000 series (we have the C8070, C8055, and C8035). Following the same exact settings results in:
"Failed: Cannot Login into destination server using credentials provided."

I know the credentials work, I can map the drive to my computer, and access the share just fine. I have enabled SMB1, SMB2, and SMB3 on the Xerox side to no avail. I have it down to just SMB1 right now with no change. The NAS has SMB1-SMB3 enabled. I have the Xerox encryption set from TLS 1.0 up to 1.2 and back again. The firmware for the C8070 was updated recently to 101.003.069.20900 but that hasn't helped. The NAS has no firewall enabled, the IPs of the Xerox's have been whitelisted. The logs on the NAS don't even register a failed attempt to connect. The SMB log in the Synology doesn't register anything either, but I think it only logs file read/write/delete. I got the Xerox to (ONE TIME) connect successfully but it had a dummy folder setup and I was grasping at straws at the time and lost what settings I was using. I know the device is capable of SMB3, as noted by the ONE time it connected properly:

Log from the NAS (had incorrect document path, was testing without a slash)
Failed: Cannot write to \\192.168.1.xxx:445\Faxtest\SampleFile.pdf
Level: Info
Log: Connection
Date & Time: 2019-08-23 15:37:53
User: Fax
Event: User [Fax] from [XRXxxxxxxxxA0D(192.168.1.xxx)] via [CIFS(SMB3)] accessed shared folder [Fax].

Authentication Log from Xerox

<TransferAuthentication>
<AuthenticationType>SMB</AuthenticationType>
<LoginSuccess>true</LoginSuccess>
<NumberOfRetries>0</NumberOfRetries>
</TransferAuthentication>
</Event>

Every attempt before and after that has only resulted in this:

Authentication Log from Xerox
<Event>
<TimestampMillis>1566247029063</TimestampMillis>
<Timestamp8601>2019-08-19T16:37:09.063-05:00</Timestamp8601>

<AuthenticationType>SMB</AuthenticationType>
<LoginSuccess>false</LoginSuccess>
<NumberOfRetries>0</NumberOfRetries>
<FailureReason>Login name/password/acccount failed</FailureReason>
</TransferAuthentication>
</Event>

What am I doing wrong? How can I get this working again? At this point I think I have tried every variation of share and document path and have run out of ideas.

Scanner Not Working on Mac With Mojave

I have just bought a Xerox Workcentre 6515 and chose this model because it said it was compatiable with Macs.

The first time I intsalled the software nothing worked at all.  After some messing about I eventually got the printer to work but not from Google Chrome and no scanner at all.  I've removed and reinstalled the latest version of the software and managed to get the prinetr to work but not the scanner.  All that happens is the scanner App opens up and then just hangs.  I have tried support but as its a new machine they cant find me registered yet.

Help please, someone get my scanner working

There is another thread that discusses this problem.  No one seems to be able to get the 6515 scanner to work with the latest release of Mojave.

I have the latest 6515 printer drivers and firmware.  The best that I can get is "Waiting for scanner" when using the Apple scanner application.  VueScan, a 3rd party app, works with Mojave.  It costs $40 and we are thinking of purchasing it for an interim solution!

I can get the scanner to work with my Win10 PC.

It would be nice if someone from Xerox weighed in here (Cherly) and provided an update.

VueScan will work to scan from Mojave to the 6515. It is $40 and we are thinking about buying the software as an interim fix.

I could not find a less expensive alternative.

I looked at Viewscan for my last printer a Samsung.  In the end I used a Samsung generic driver and it worked fine.  I'm not sure on how secure view scan is so I'm like you hoping Xerox do an update.

Hi

Please make sure that you have upgraded your machine to the latest firmware available for the Mac and WorkCentre 6515. Make sure you are using the newest scan drivers from August 2019. If you have all the updates and are still unable to scan then please call your local support centre and ask to speak to someone in 2nd level support for additional assistance.

8.5 x 11 Copies Coming out on 11 X 17 Paper

Our users have found that when making 8.5 x 11 copies, the copies come out on 11 x 17 paper. Upon looking at the copies it appears that the copier is adding a light gray border around the content of the copy, making it bigger than 8.5 x 11 and thus forcing the copier to print on the larger paper. Has anyone seen this before? Do I (as the copier admin at my company) have a setting incorrect?

Just as an FYI: Our users are using the glass when making these copies.

Hi,

When using the copier glass be sure to set the proper paper tray that matching to your original.

Thanks Gabi!

I understand that this is an option. Maybe I'm asking a dumb question here but: Isn't the copier able to auto-detect the size of the paper? Our users are making copies of reciepts in some cases and I don't want them to have to set the paper size each time they make a copy.

Thoughts?

Hi thank you for your reply.  I have done the above as suggested and the latest firmware is on the printer but still no joy.  Scanner just gets stuck on waiting.
