WorkCentre 3325 Scan Legal Document

We currently purchased WorkCentre 3325 and have not been able to scan a Legal document to Network from the ADF.

The specs say that the ADF scans legal but couldn't find where to change the paper size:

 

Duplex Automatic Document Feeder
Capacity: 50 sheets
Size: 5.6 x 5.8 in. to 8.5 x 14 in.
(142 x 148 mm to 216 x 356 mm)

 

I have read the manual but doesn't specify how to change the scan paper size.

I found a recommended solution for Fault Code 031-555: SMB Error.  Scan login Failed Message.

Clink on this link to follow the recommended steps.

Power Off the Printer, Wait 10 Seconds, and then power on the printer.

 

Please try and see if this helps.

 

 

062-321 System Error WorkCentre 6015

Hi,

My MFP 6015 is getting this error message.  I reset it and it says the same message.  I believe it has to do with the scanner.  it makes a grinding noise when I start it up.  What can I do?

I would make sure the date/ time and timezone of the 550 and the bustled Fiery (if you have one) are correct. Also make sure the 550 ip is 100.100.100.101, subnet is 255.255.252.0, gateway is 100.100.100.102. This is for the 550 itself not to be confused with the Fiery settings.

Workflow scanning issue on WC 5845/7530

Hi folks

 

I know there's quite a few posts already on workflow scanning, but this one is a little different. I seem to have an issue when it comes to setting up workflow scanning on one of our WC5845. We set up the share on our VNX, created an account with full rights to the share. Also set up the IP, the port, but when I go to do a scan, it gives me a log in failure set user/password or setups.

Now the funny thing is, it works on our Phaser 3635. I put the exact same settings and it works. Bare in mind all of these printers are on the same network. I thought it was the SMB port that was the issue, but I've tested with both port numbers; 139, and 445 on our p3635 and it works.

I did notice from my Centerware web portal, when I go on the WC5845 interface and do a test to check the workflow settings, it says invalid username and password.

My question is, what can be wrong. Why does it work flawlessly on our phaser but not on our 5845 nor our 7530.

The system software version on our 5845 is 071.190.034.06000

Hi you!

 

Even if it does say invalid user name/password, it could be the path thats wrong too.

I suggest you double check your settings, if you want you can post a screenshot here and give us more info on ur setup for us to be able to help you.

Workcentre 7425 scanning fails after a few days

I have had this 7425 for at least 5 years and network scanning (SMB) has always worked fine.

 

These last few months, however, it fails to work after a few days of working, just beeps and gives me the code 027-529

 

If I restart my PC, it will work again for a few days, before stopping again. I have tried to monitor when and why it stops but to no avail. I am on Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit. If I restart the Xerox it still fails to work.

 

I have changed my router (twice) and this hasn't helped it seems.

 

My Xerox dealer has been through all the settings with me, created new File Repositories etc and we have even set up scanning via FTP, which also works fine for a few days and then stops too.

 

The only thing which has really changed in the last few months is that I got another PC (Windows 8) and upgraded to MS Office 360 and had difficulty with file sharing and the new Excel crashing and (as I have got an MS Answer Desk contract) they logged onto my machine and fudged around with sharing settings and trust certificates etc - not sure what they really did to be fair, but perhaps they screwed with something which is affecting my scanning ?

 

I have just found something on the internet about SMB and SAMBA not working and to change a few settings in Local Security Policies, but this has not helped either.

 

I am now out of ideas really, other than buying a new scanner which seems ridiculous !

Hi you!

 

062-321 means Carriage Motor Error.

It's the IP Board or the MCU Board, check the wiring and maybe replace the IP Board / MCU Board.

I do suggest that you call an engineer for this.

Do you have a win xp/win 7 computer to try with?

Just so that we are clear that it's the win8 machine before troubleshooting.

try also advanced sharing.

It's my Win 7 machine I have the issue with, although I have tried to set up SMB scanning on my other machine (Win 8) without much success.

 

I have done all the sharing/Advanced Sharing options there are about 100 times !

 

Could it have anything to do with Homegroups ?

My destination folder is E:\Temp, my machine name is MBS6, I have created a separate user on my PC called "xerox"

 

These are the sharing settings for the Temp folder.

Let me know if you want any other information.

 

I have been through the Xerox setup instructions methodically so many times.

 

But it works fine if I restart my PC, and will continue to do so for several days, and then will just stop working for no apparent reason.

 

I have also tried disabling my firewall but this makes no difference.

 

What can it be that suddenly stops it from working after a few days ?

Hi again!

 

Okey, then we know it's not a OS-specific problem at least.

It could be a homegroup issue, yes, I suggest you try to access the shared folder from another computer, does that work?

Also you could go to the Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Change advanced sharing settings.

Try changing the settings to "Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers" or "Turn off password protected sharing" and see if that helps.

 

 

UPDATE:

I cannot see the pictures yet, will have a look through em as soon as they are uploaded.

As you explain it, it does actually sound like a pc specific problem though, but as you said before this happens on both computers?

Hi again Kimzi

 

I could indeed access the E:\Temp folder on my PC from my wife's PC (the Win 8 one)by typing in \\MBS6\Temp on her PC.

 

I changed the setting in Advanced Sharing Settings to "Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers" (after which it wanted my to logoff and back on again) but this made no difference.

 

I already had "Turn off password protected sharing" ticked.

 

I cannot say the same thing happened with the Win8 PC, rather that I failed to ever get it working in the first place, although I may have made a half-hearted attempt at setting it up because I was either annoyed by that stage or the settings were just getting too confusing introducing another PC and IP address into the equation !

Hmm....

 

If "Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers" does not make a difference, I suggest you change it back.

I do believe the settings on the printer is correct, and that it has to do with either the router or the computer itself.

 

I have a feeling that it could have something to do with the SMB version being used, when this happens, the printer cannot reach the win 7 computer, but can the win 8 computer access the folder even in that state or do you need to reboot for that too?

Also, do you use a thrid party anti virus?

Hi Kimzi.

 

Yes, all very weird.

 

I could access the Temp folder from the Win 8 machine even while the scanning isn't working.

 

I just tried leaving the Homegroup on my PC to see if it changed anything, but no joy.

 

I use ESET Smart Security 7, and I have talked to them previously and disabled the firewall but it did not make any difference.

 

There was something funny with Homegroups a while back, that you could not connect if the date/time on the PC's were out of sync, which they were and when I altered them then all PC's could join the homegroup. Is there somewhere on the Xerox I can check or alter the date and time ?
