If you are talking about the Smart Start, it relies on your setup, when it doesn't find your printer, you simply type it in manually (In my case, the Xerox LAN is pretty big, so it finds 2 that are used for more personal use, when I type in an address specific to a particular printer, it inevitably finds every supported device with a close IP, which tends to be lots, because they are used by support teams, in lab scenarios, with anywhere from 50-100 test devices)
That will then install the print driver and the scan driver, you will likely get a security prompt for the scan driver though
