This gets so old. We have something working fine, then one day, it just stops working and it seems like nothing will fix it.
We have always had issues with scanning on our Xerox WorkCentre 4265 and for some reason troubleshooting this leased hardware falls on my shoulders. Our Scan to Email quit working again. "Nothing has changed" to my knowledge.
We use Bluehost.com for our email. Below is the information from Bluehost regarding the email address we use for the scan to email. We've been using the Standard (without SSL) information.
I am unsure what "Server Domain" is supposed to be. It's had several different things filled in there. I'm not sure who has changed it since I'm the only person in the office that ever gets stuck dealing with this headache (and I work overnights). The machine is leased, but any time I tell management to call the leased company for technical support, they blame it on "the network" and don't help.
I am 100% certain the user/password is correct, I have tested it numerous times accessing the webmail from machines that have never utilized the browser based webmail.
Once I can get the Scan to Email working again, I'll worry about the other scanning issues.
The error message "The job could not be sent, a connection to the server could not be established." At the top of the Xerox screen it also reads: "Mail Server Connection Failure Check SMTP IP address or Host name. Check that SMTP port is correct and open."
I did make a new gmail account and was able to get it to work correctly utilizing port 587 and TLS (with Validate Certificate unchecked). However, I'd like to get it back to the original settings we were using instead of a temporary solution.
Any suggestions on how to use our original email address (scan@island--------.com) would be wonderful.
I'll ask about the other Scan to <insert destination here> issues we've always had at a later time.
Thanks in advanced!
