Hi,
We have a Phaser 3635 MFP that one day quit sending faxes, both LAN Fax and regular hardcopy fax. The recipient's would receive our faxes but what they received was hundreds of small horizontal lines. Xerox tech upgraded Phaser 3635 firmware to most recent and that fixed hardcopy faxes, but embedded LAN Fax still not working (again, recipient receives fax with many horizontal lines instead of readable text).
We tried upgrading our Xerox drivers to most recent drivers on one computer. Same result. We finally received some success by installing Xerox Global Print Drivers (GPD) PCL6 on one computer. When we use the PCL6 driver, the fax is illegible for the recipient. When we use any Postscript driver, result is illegible.
We were told it is most likely Postscript to TIFF converter inside the MFP but no known fix. We were told to install PCL6 driver on ALL our networked computers and uninstall all Postscript drivers. The number of hours to accomplish this driver switch is substantial and cheaper to replace the Phaser 3635 MFP.
Anyone else having Phaser 3635 fax issues using Xerox's RECOMMENDED GPD Postscript drivers?
Frustrated,
Murray
