It's a serious fault. The DADF (Document Feeder) is failing.
With luck re-seating the cable will get rid of the fault, just look for the (typically gray) cable that comes out of the lid and goes into the copier/MFP. Unplug and put back in, then boot up the device.
Failing that I can't think of anything you can do besides call in a Xerox tech, hopefully you have a maintenance agreement.
